HomeMy WebLinkAboutBylaw 1713 - Stubble Burning BylawOil Vn BYLAW NO 1713 Stubble Burning Bylaw A BYLAW OF KNEEHILL COUNTY, IN THE PROVINCE OF ALBERTA, FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONTROLLING STUBBLE BURNING. WHEREAS, the Soil Conservation, RSA 2000, as amended, regulates the burning of stubble on land; WHEREAS, the Soil Conservation Act, RSA 2000, as amended, gives authority for a Council, by bylaw, to establish a system of permits controlling the burning of stubble on land; NOW THEREFORE, the Council of Kneehill County, duly assembled, enacts as follows: PART ONE 1. DEFINITIONS "Council" means the Council of Kneehill County. "Fire Guardian" means that person names or appointed by Council as a Fire Guardian pursuant to the Forest and Prairie Protection Act. "Soil Conservation Officer" means the person or persons appointed by Council from time to time and appointed powers as such under the Soil Conservation Act, RSA 2000. "Stubble Burning Permit" means a permit issued by a Fire Guardian in consultation with the Soil Conservation Officer under this Bylaw. PART TWO PROVISIONS 2. A Stubble Burning Permit will be issued as per the Kneehill County Fire Services Bylaw 1712, and amendments there to, by Fire Guardians in consultation with the Soil Conservation Officer. Bylaw No. 1713, Stubble Burning Bylaw Page 2 of 2 TRANSITION 3. EFFECTIVE DATE This bylaw comes into effect upon third reading of this bylaw. 4. BYLAW REPEAL Bylaw No. 526 is hereby repealed. READ a first time on this 13th day of December 2016. READ a second time on 13th day of December 2016. UNANMOUS permission for third reading given in Council on 13th day of December 2016.
