BYLAW NO 1372
THIS BEING A BYLAW OF THE MUNICIPAL DISTRICT OF KNEEHILL
NUMBER 48 IN THE PROVINCE OF ALBERTA TO MAKE PROVISION FOR
E9-1-1 SERVICE
WHEREAS pursuant to the provisions of the Municipal Government Act Revised
Statutes of Alberta 1994 Chapter 26 1 a municipality may pass bylaws for the safety,
health and welfare of the people and the protection of people and property and for the
provision of services by the municipality
AND WHEREAS the M D of Kneehill Number 48 deems it desirable to provide
Enhanced 9 1 1 Emergency Service (E9 I 1 Service) for the safety health , welfare and
general benefit of the citizens of the municipality,
AND WHEREAS the City of Red Deer is able to provide such service to the M D of
Kneehill Number 48 at a reasonable cost,
NOW therefore the council of the Municipal District of Kneehill Number 48, in the
province of Alberta, duly assembled enacts as follows
1 This bylaw may be cited as the "E9 l l Bylaw"
In this bylaw
a `Municipality' means the Municipal District of Kneehill, a municipal corporation
in the province of Alberta and where the context requires means the area
contained within the corporate boundaries of the said municipality
b "Council' means the Council of the Municipal District of Kneehill No 48
c Act' refers to the Municipal Government Act, Revised Statutes of Alberta
2 The Municipal District of Kneehill Number 48 is hereby authorized to enter into an
agreement with the City of Red Deer for the purpose of providing E9 1 1 service to
the citizens of the municipality The terms of such an agreement shall be substantially
in accordance with the draft agreement submitted together with the Report to Council
dated May 27, 1997
3 This bylaw shall come into full force and effect on third reading
