BYLAW NO. 1373
THIS BEING A BYLAW OF THE MUNICIPAL DISTRICT OF KNEEHILL NUMBER 48 IN
THE PROVINCE OF ALBERTA TO MAKE PROVISION FOR E9 1 1 SERVICE
WHEREAS pursuant to the provisions of the Municipal Government Act, Revised Statutes of Alberta
1994 Chapter 26 1 a municipality may pass bylaws for the safety health and welfare of the people and
the protection of people and property and for the provision of services by the municipality -
AND WHEREAS the M D of Knechill Number 48 wishes to provide its citizens access to emergency
services via an Enhanced E9 1 1 Service
AND WHEREAS the M D of Knechill Number 48 has entered into an agreement with Telus
Communications Inc (TELUS) to provide emergency services via its Provincial E9 1 1 Service,
AND WHEREAS the M D of Knechill Number 48 desires to recover costs associated with delivering
Provincial E9 1 1 Service in the form of a fee levied on each exchange service in the M D of Knechill
Number 48 equipped for outward dialing to be paid by each TELUS customer in the municipality
NOW therefore the Council of the Municipal District of Knechill Number 48 in the province of Alberta,
® duly assembled enacts as follows
This bylaw may be cited as the "E9 1 1 Fee Bylaw'
In this bylaw
a "Municipality' means the Municipal District of Kneeliill a municipal corporation in the
province of Alberta and where the context requires means the area contained within the
corporate boundaries of the said municipality
b `Council' means the Council of the Municipal District of Kneeliill No. 48
c Act" refers to the Municipal Government Act, Revised Statutes of Alberta.

3 The agreement between the Municipal District of Knechill Number 48 and TELUS requinng the
provision of Provincial E9 1 1 Service to each Telus customer in the municipality is ratified and
confirmed
4 A system service fee in the sum of $0.39 for each exchange service in the municipality equipped for
outward dialing is imposed upon each TELUS customer subscribing to such exchange service

5 A call answer fee in the sum of $0.44 for each exchange service in the municipality for outward
dialing is imposed upon each TELUS customer subscribing to such exchange service
6 TELUS is hereby authorized to recover the call answer fee on behalf of the town from each TELUS
customer
7 This bylaw sliall come into effect when all agreements and conditions arc in place to provide this
service
