This information is collected under the authority of Section 33 (c) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and may become public information once it is submitted to Council during a Council meeting. PURPOSE Kneehill County is committed to fostering the growth, vitality, and unity of rural communities by providing financial assistance for the development and enhancement of their community halls, including the following Rural Community Halls: • Huxley Community Association • Sunnyslope Community Association • Wimborne Community Centre • Torrington Community Centre • Swalwell Community Association • Three Hills Rural Community Association • Orkney Athletic Association • Mt. Vernon Community Association • Hesketh Community Hall Association ELIGIBILITY Who can apply? Rural Community Halls: • Huxley Community Association • Sunnyslope Community Association • Wimborne Community Centre • Torrington Community Centre • Swalwell Community Association • Three Hills Rural Community Association • Orkney Athletic Association • Mt. Vernon Community Association • Hesketh Community Hall Association To participate in this program Rural Community Halls must: • Projects must be capital expenditures and must be used to enhance the Rural Hall not another facility or project. • Match the funding request at a minimum of 25% of the total project cost. • Complete their project within one year of funding approval. • Not received a Rural Hall Capital Grant the prior year of more than $1,000. Questions regarding the collection of this information can be directed to the FOIP Coordinator at 403-443-5541. SUBMISSION DATES Applications are open from January 1st to September 30th of each year. GENERAL GUIDELINES 1. Due to limited funds and the anticipated large volume of applications, not all requests meeting the established criteria will obtain Rural Hall Capital Grant funding. 2. Projects over $5,000 must be presented to Council. 3. Applicants will be notified upon Council’s approval of this application. 4. The Kneehill County grant portion will be forwarded to the applicant once Council has approved the grant by resolution during a regular Council meeting. 5. Organizations receiving funding will have a one-year period to use the funds and submit a final report to the County that includes copies of all receipts and full accounting. The Accountability Form will be mailed with the cheque. a. Project photos are to be included in the project reporting document, to be used in Kneehill County’s communications. 6. Council at the time of grant approval will determine the form of recognition that will be made for Kneehill County’s contribution, which could include, public acknowledgement by applicant, a photo opportunity, displaying a sign at the project site with the cost borne by the applicant, or a customized recognition. 7. Community Hall usage numbers provided for in the Rural Community Hall Operating Grant will be provided to Council during the application review stage. 8. This application form is a brief summary of the policy requirements.
