The meeting that had adjourned from February 9th was

Mr Church moved that the minutes of the meeting of

This showed a net balance of 8216,647-14. Mr. i3oese moved that this
statement bE adopted. Carried.
Mr Brown moved that the shop committee look at the
one ton tru k box built by the County of Mountain View, Didsbury,
and perhaps copy the design. Carried.

Ivir Peters moved that Donald A. Herman be advised
that this Council regrets that it seems impossible to obtain Work-
man's Compensation for him in respect to his alleged injury while
assisting a Veterinarian in the Bang's vaccination work. Carried

Mr. Brown moved that the offer of V L Boese of $25 00
ridge in the west of 11-30-25-4 be tabled until Spring.
Mr Brown moved lst reading to By-Law #373, this being

gravel approximately,four miles west and 1 mile south of Beiseker on
the farm of Mr Ben uhurchio, and that there was a large percentage
of rocks to be crushed Mr Brown moved that Linden Contractors be
authorized to crush approximately 2000 c yds from the Churchio -nit
for this District and that they be paid 65 cents per c yd for the
crushing Carried.

Mr Gordon Park, Field Supervisor, met briefly with
Council and gave an outline of his activities) referring to spraying
of 581 cattle spraying one barn and corral, inspecting and approving
of Seed Clean7ing Plantsq etc. Mr. Schmelke moved that the Agricultural
Service Board be asked to bring in recommendations for grasshopper
control ncluding referance to roadside spraying re grass-

Grants Mr. Wm. Higgins and our road foremen met with Council
Letters from he Department of Highways regarding the Resource Road
111and Contingeniy Grant were read and discussed.
Resource I Mr Peters moved that this District apply ply for the
road Resource Road Grant for regrading and gravelling the road from SE 3-
34-26-4 north four miles at an estimated cost of $25,000. (H. Benedict
north). Carried. Mr. Higgins voiced approval of this project
JMr Higgins, in reply to a questi-on, stated that this
District woulf likely be allowed to earn the two grants referred to
above with ou own Machines.

Mr. Loosmore moved that our Engineer be directed to
.plete details of the work required to improve vision
the slide troubles on the Orkney Hill. Carried.
Mr. Peters reported that Mr. John Peipke of 'Torrington
area had inq iced about Welfare Assistance. Mr King and Mr Peters
were asked t obtain further details and report back .
Mr Stan Bell, of Stewart Equipment, met briefly with
Council and thanked them for contacting him in respect to a Motor
Patrol. He regretted that they did not have a good one in stock so
had been unable to bid.
Mr. Herb Dicltiieson of Construction Equipment Co Ltd.
met briefly ith Council and agreed to get exact information re-
garding an A eco Ripper for a #12 Patrol. Estimated cost was $2320.
Mr. Wayne Scobie of Ferguson Supply (Alberta) Limited
met with Cou cif and submitted details of the proposed rental purchase
V agreement of the Euclid TS - 14
If the machine is rented for four months or more and
then purchas d, Council loses advantage of cash discounts totallling
$4837
If the TS - 14 which was rented for one month last
Fall, is now purchased, its price is 4'53,000.00
These conditions were discussed at considerable length.

Mr. Loosmore then moved 1st reading to By -Law lr375, this being a By-
Law to purchase one Euclid TS - 14 Scraper from Ferguson Supply
(Alberta) Limited, at a price of $53,000.00 payable by 5301000.00
cash and the balance of 423,000.00 with 6% simple interest to be paid
not later thin January 31, 1963. Carried unan Mr. C. Campbell
moved 2nd reading. Carried unan. Mr. Schmelke moved 3rd reading.

The Euclid `C'S - 14 thus purchased is theone which had
been rented or one month in 1961 and it carries a new machine warranty.

Mr. Boese moved that the Council agree to the Contract
v of Apprentic ship for Allan L. Koch for training as a Heavy Duty
Mechanic and that this contract be authorized xx signed
Mr. Brown moved that the two foremen and two others
from each road crew attend the Street- Robbins- Morrow School in Calgary
on Larch 23rd and that the men be paid for 8 hours work on that day.
The Elevating Graders owned by this District were dis-
cussed and the foremen gave information as to their condition Mr
v Boese moved hat they be offeredfor sale with the - urchaserto take
his choice a $600.00 each "as is ". Carried.
Mr. Brown moved that the Elevating Graders be advertised

A committee of Mr. Boese, Mr. Brown and Mr King re-
ported on the meeting which they had attended in Swalwell on February
2nd in respect to proposed closure of the Swalwell C. N. R. Agency.
Mr. Loosmore i.rioved that the report be accepted. Carried
The Secretary - Treasurer submitted to Council a report
of the Water ccounts at Linden and -pointed out that a few were getting
badly in arrears. Mr. Schmelke moved that "if a water bill is more
than three months in arrears, the water supply shall be cut off and a
special charge of $10.00 shall be made. The arrears and the special
charge must then be paid before the water can again be turned on."
Carried.
Mr. Brown moved that the following arrangements be
made for the equired vote on By-Law #369 regarding Hail Suppression:

Councillor Schmelke was absent due to illness. All

Mr J. E. Frere of Trochu met with council to get exact
equipment for the 3 - 4 ton truck authorized purchased

The minutes of the 1961 Annual Meeting were briefly

Our 1961 Financial Statement was also reviewed briefly

Mr. George Park, our Assessor, met with Council and
suggested that it would be advisable to have a man assist him while
he is assessing the properties at the Prairie Bible Institute Mr
Peters moved that Council authorize having one of our regular

Mr. R. Keglowitsch, Engineer, met with Council and
showed the design of Texas Gates as drafted with the recommendations
of the Committee of Mr Loosmore and Mr Brown.
After discussion, Mr. Boese moved that the committee's
recommendation be accepted as outlined Carried
Mr. Brown moved that the Provincial Department of High-
STOP ways be reqtested to erect STOP signs at all locations in this area
