Purpose:
Kneehill County acknowledges that water is an important resource and therefore endeavors to make it
available and affordable to ratepayers.This policy will reflect the desire of a ratepayer who wishes to have a
connection to the waterline during construction but, before development of the parcel has begun.
Policy Guidelines/Procedures:
1. If a water service is requested by a ratepayer to service an undeveloped parcel of land adjacent to a
designed waterline for the intent to use the water service in the future, it will be accommodated at the
time of construction.
2. If a water service is requested by a ratepayer to service an undeveloped parcel of land not adjacent to
a designed waterline for the intent to use the water service in the future, it will be a decision of County
Council before the design of the waterline is finalized.
3. If a ratepayer does have a water service connection for future use installed the appropriate fees, as
per the Master Rates Bylaw, will apply
4. A monthly Maintenance fee as specified in the Master Rates Bylaw will be charged once the riser is
installed.
5. The ratepayer will be complete and sign the future use agreement,Schedule A attached hereto.

Pursuant to Policy 14-11, the County and Landowner agree as follows:
1. The applicant and/or landowner hereby request a water service (curb stop/riser) to be placed at the property line
of the above noted location
2. The applicant and/or landowner hereby agree to pay fee associated with the installation of the water service (curb
stop/riser).
3. The applicant and/or landowner herby agree to pay the monthly maintenance fee as set out by the Master Rates
Bylaw
4. The County will, in conjunction with the applicant and/or landowner, place the water service (curb stop/riser) at a
mutually agreeable location on the property line during the construction phase of the waterline.
