HomeMy WebLinkAbout2004-03-22 Council Minutes�q L01 E stantec.com Stantec March 22 2004 File 112872450 Kneehill County Box 400 232 Main Street Three Hills AB TOM 2A0 Attention Mr Gene Kiviaho Chief Administrative Officer Dear Sirs Reference Kneehill County Water Servicing Strategy Next Steps As part of this project, we have prepared a list of the Next Steps" that Kneehill County can consider in proceeding forward with the Water Servicing Strategy initiative Consider this list as suggested points for discussion which can be refined at the April 06, 2004 Council Workshop 1 Kneehill County Council to review and examine Water Servicing Strategy Report prepared by Stantec 2 April 06 Council Workshop — Discuss how to engage ratepayers and gain commitment on this project from ratepayers in each WSA Consider establishing WSS Steering Committee — Including Council Administration and a Champion(s)/Local Representative(s) from each WSA, 3 Confirm which type of rural water distribution system the County will be installing - Constant Flow or Full Flow System? Council Decision 4 Finalize the proposed direction to be used to establish connection fees either by County Wide (Water Service Region) or per Water Service Area? Council Decision 5 Prioritize use of water based on current allocation available (ie People, then Poultry Swine and Cattle). Council Decision t 6 Ratepayer share/portion of funding model by Local Improvement Bylaw Method or Capital Utility Investment Method? Kneehill County Water Servicing Strategy Next Steps F Confirm approach on Ownership and Operation of rural water system?
