Dear Sir or Madam
It has come to our attention that a development permit application has been made to the Town of Three
Hills for a restaurant and offices on the back of the parcel of land at the comer of Highway 21 and
Highway 583 (behind Super 8 at the east entrance to Three Hills) The plan indicates a large parking
lot that could accommodate many large trucks to the west of the proposed complex that would adjoin
our land and farm (SE 6-32-23-W4) This farm and land is under the governance of Kneehill County
We understand that you consult with the Town of Three Hills when decisions are made that could affect
county taxpayers whose land abuts town land
Having the existing businesses, Super 8 and Get `n Go convenience store and gas bar, adjacent to our
property has severely compromised our quality of life. We have experienced noise pollution property
damage, diesel fumes and excessive dust in our yard and home, and an increase in litter on our
Property Trespassing in our yard and on the farmland surrounding us is an on-going problem We
also have concerns about whether there will be an ability to choose to raise livestock on our farm in the
future. New development of the type proposed could severely limit the options available to our farm
and the land surrounding it in the future
Our family has owned this farm for nearly ninety years and has paid municipal taxes during that time.
We look forward to discussing our concerns with you at your next council meeting We ask for your
support in coming to a decision about this development application what will be in the best interests of
all parties concerned, including the developer and the Town of Three Hills.
