September 17 2003 Issue Distribution of the Community Grants Funds Background A Community Grants Committee meeting was held on September 9, 2003 with all members of ' Council present to determine grant eligibility and funding allocations A list of grant allocations recommended by the Community Grants Committee is attached for Council approval As per the Community Grants Policy Guidelines the funds will be distributed by Nov 1, 2003 and Council must receive confirmation of the expenditure of funds The next funding application deadline is February 1, 2004 with fund to be distributed by April 1, 2004 Discussion Council received 18 requests (a total of $167,360) for Community grant funding and the results were as follows • 11 requests for project funding were approved at a total of $43,630 • 4 requests did not meet the submission criteria under the Community Grants Policy Guidelines • 2 requests were denied due to insufficient information • 1 request was denied under this Policy but will qualify for funding under another program Recommendation That Council approve the attached list of funding allocations as recommended by the Community Grants Committee Gene Kiviaho Chief Admims rative Officer • 40 • To • Reeve Hoppms Council Agenda 47(c) Members of Council From.
