Question and Answer Period
1) What does a March 2005 completion date mean9
• That is a target date for the trunk line only
2) Can the trunk line and distribution line be constructed at the same time?
• Maybe but we need at least 1 dwelling/mile
3) Would farm use pay the same amount of money9
• It would depend on the area and average cost — everyone may share the cost
• It has not been decided
• The funding application must fit the timelines
4) What was the Mt Vernon cost?
• MV is an independent system and the dynamics are different
• Must define the boundaries and everyone within the boundary that is
hooked up shares the cost
5) Will the cost vary on volume coming from Drumheller?
• We are only one of the three parties and the cost is to be determined
6) Will increased volumes result in a lower cost of water?
• That is to be determined
7) Is there a concern about the capacity of the Red Deer River to supply water?
• There will be a water license and that means the river supply will be
monitored
• Residential use would be the last on the list if there was a water restriction
• The Drumheller plant is currently operating at about 1/3 capacity
8) What kind of pressure are you looking at?
• That has not been decided as yet and will require a policy
45
9) Will the property values increase?
• Property will be more valuable because of the access to water
• Cisterns may be more valuable than the cost of running a water line
• Identify a leader to coordinator water needs for a group of users and
contact the office with your input
