HomeMy WebLinkAbout2000-10-27 Council Minutes0 E-1 M KNEEHILL COUNTY ANNUAL ROAD TOUR October 27, 2000 The 2000 Annual Kneehill County Road Tour was held on Friday October 27th 2000, commencing at 8 30 A.M The following were present for the meeting Councillors Marylea Lowen Division One Marjorie D Vetter Division Four James M Hanger Division Five Richard M Vickery Division Six Jennifer Deak, Administrator was present along with Lonnie McCook, Assistant Administrator Reeve Otto Hoff was absent due to another municipal commitment Councillor Glen Wagstaff was also absent The following road projects were inspected and reviewed and the following recommendations and comments made PRESENT Division Five Braconmer Road Project 6 miles Oct 13/00 Concurred with Oct 13/00 Road Committee Div 5 recommendation that this project be written off Sich Road S of 03 33 22 W4 Division Seven. Div. 7 Magnuson Road S of 09 34 22 W4 & W of 03 34 22 W4 Buffalo Jump S of 26,27,28,29 34 22 W4 Meding Road S of 25 26,27 28,29 — 34 24 W4 looked at the Maxwell fence Matt McRae drainage problem — SE 28 34 24 W4 — Concurred with the Oct 13/00 Road Committee recommendation that Agra Torchinsky do an assessment of this area. Moran Hill Cut NE 30 34 24 W4 �. Dean Hastie Road Request — Recommend OK to blade grade approximately '/4 mile on road allowance into the new residence site S1 /2 — 01 34 25 W4 Division Six Div. 6 Bigelow Dam — S 2,3 34 25 W4 Looked at the dirt road off the Hastie Road leading to the park It was noted there are two other gravel roads that access this site Recommend the dirt road be left as is for now Division Four: Schmautz Pit 40 acres fenced Discussed monitoring the road from the north off Highway 27 into the site to see if it gets busy Mr McCook investigating the disposal of chemicals at this site The attendant s facility needs to be put in place Those present all agreed the site was well laid out However, concerns were expressed about the balance of the quarter especially the poor fencing the possibility of not renting the pasture next year to allow time for new growth was discussed Recommend the pasture land not be rented in 2001, the perimeter fencing be addressed along with backsloping and trees in the ditches, the possibility of cross fencing be investigated to allow pasture rotation, Mr Sommerville u these lands be offered as watershed demonstration sites foI The group stopped for lunch in Linden 12 15 P M until 1 Division Three. Bob Penner Road S of 01 30 25 W4 and S of 2,3,4,5,6 — 30 24 W4 (6 miles) East 6 miles to Calhoun's Noted east of Calhoun s already done Division Four Keith Leonard Road S of 25,26,27 — 31 25 W4 & S of 28,29 30 —31 24 W4 (6 miles) Division One.
