The following items were discussed
1 A review of the Kneehill Ambulance Meeting held May 24
a. Fire Chiefs — first responders — confusing to some Original idea was
to ask who would like to be first responders and County then pay for
their training Matter to be further addressed
b Discussion 911 dispatch — 911 the difference
c Separate dial tone for ambulance and fire — going to be only one dial
tone fornow
d Use of directions — signs installed for the legal land descriptions and
that is what should be used
e Motor vehicle accident — fire truck and rescue unit dispatch according
to protocol
2 A letter to Ted Hickey — concerns with dispatch of units to motor vehicle
accidents — protocol addressed
3 Letters from Randy Tiller to the Villages of Acme, Carbon and Linden,
Towns of Trochu and Three Hills and the Kneehill Ambulance Society,
addressing the requests for upgrading or modification to the communications
system must go through the County office
4 Letter from Randy Tiller to Bruce Heroux — Communications Group
concerning that any radio equipment and channels must be approved by the
County
Review of the Minutes of Fire Chief's Meeting held June 20`x'
a Call reports — would like a copy of these reports by fax once a month
and report sent to Council
b Discussion on billing for responding to a motor vehicle accident The
Fire/Capital Committee recommends that all motor vehicle responses
be billed and that this be forwarded to Council for approval.
c New fire hose tester — Randy Tiller will take to Fire Meeting nights
and continue to check the hoses at necessary intervals
d Fire ban lifted
e Dispatches 911 details discussed (Kneehill Dispatch — Linden
Ambulance)— confusion being not listening closely enough
f Ambulance put on Trochu repeater — yes
g Staying with one tone for ambulance and fire
h Request for Randy to update Fire fighters quarterly membership list
i Acme asking for new pumper truck
Fire departments have to stay within budgets
6 Firefighting courses — 3 dates — November — 2001 and January — 2002 will
be held in Three Hills and the third will be held in Trochu at the Fire Hall

7 Truck lost through fire at Carbon This truck 1978 model belong to the County
and further investigation is being made into the insurance coverage
8 The Fire Bylaw Draft was discussed The sections that Glen Scott asked to be
reviewed were discussed and appropriate changes made The draft again will
be sent in to Glen Scott for another reading and then it will be sent to the
Council for approval at that time After it has been approved, then an
announcement would go into the paper to make the public aware of its
presence
9 Discussion on having an Open House at the Trochu Fire Hall After the
Communications splitter is completed at Wimborne and the 2" water line
installed at Trochu, there will be an Open House held hopefully around the 1 st
or 2nd week in August Discussion followed on the advertisement/invitations
for this open house
10 Lonnie McCook informed the committee that all of the big equipment has
been purchased and is working on the Golf Course Road Project
