EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE REPORT
February 17, 2000
The Executive Committee of Otto Hoff, Richard M Vickery and Marylea Lowen met on
Thursday, February 17, 2000, at the Kneehill County office, commencing at 8 30 A.M
ca Lonnie D McCook, Public Works Superintendent and Jennifer Deak, Administrator, were
also present
The following items were discussed
1 Kneehill Ambulance Service (KAS)
Mrs Deak reported briefly on the Kneehill Ambulance Society regular meeting
held on February 16, 2000
Society to review KAS policy - first meeting Wednesday, April 5/2000
Society members will present the proposed agreement between Kneehill
County and the KAS to their respective Councils and have an answer for
the April 5, 2000 meeting as the contract expires April 14,2000
A draft 2000 operating budget in the amount of $311,150 00 was
accepted as interim budget
Executive Committee recommends letters be sent to the towns and villages
within Kneelrill County providing copies of the information presented at the
KAS meeting
2 Feb.1/00 Letter from Cami Wendell re Healin Through Humour and Play
Project
A request has been received from Cami Wendell, one of the creators of the Healing
Through Humor and Play Project at the Three Hills & District Health Care
Services, for a contribution to assist with the completion of the play area for the SD *1 E-,V o
front lobby and a treasure chest to reward pediatric patients who attend the �3 `-
emergency department
Executive Committee recommends Ms Wendell be referred to the Community r

Lottery Board and further the Recreation Grant be reviewed to extend the ( ,
parameters to include cultural activities.
3 Jan.31 /00 Correspondence from Travel Alberta re Events Profile Form
A request has been received from Travel Alberta to complete an Events Profile
form regarding upcoming community events
Executive Committee recommends to accept and file.
4 Feb. 15100 Guatemala Medical Mission Donation Request
A request has been received from Rinus Onos for a donation to the Guatemala
Medical Mission which will be used for the purchase of medical supplies T b *%&wa

Executive Committee recommends a donation in the amount of $500.00 be
made to the Guatemala Medical Mission for the purchase of medical supplies
5 Feb.8 /00 AAMD &C 1999 Fall Convention Evaluation Results
A tabulation of the 1999 Fall Convention Evaluation results (based on a total of 50
responses) has been received from the AAMD &C The Convention was given an
overall rating of 97%
Executive Committee recommends to accept and file.
6 Feb.9 /00 Letter from AAMD &C re GIS /GPS Advisory Committee
The AAMD &C Board has chosen two individuals from each AAMD &C District to
serve on the GIS /GPS Advisory Committee The representatives on this ,
committee for District 2 are Keith Boras of Lacombe and Dale Petersen of Rocky
View An inquiry was made as to how members are selected for these committees

Executive Committee recommends to accept and file and further, the County
inquire how members are selected for the AAMD &C sub and ad hoc
committees.
7 Feb.8 /00 News Release & Pamphlet from Alberta Government re New
Economic Strategy
A copy of the Government of Alberta s new economic strategy document, Get
Ready Alberta Strengthening the Alberta Advantage, setting 16 targets for
Alberta's Centennial year 2005, has been received
Executive Committee recommends to accept and file.
8 SH 806 Between Acme and Linden Letter
Copies of letters from Mary Lou Tainsh Diana Weatherald, Miles & Viv Hannah,
Donna Sinclair and Craig Hannah, to the Premier listing concerns with this portion
of SH 806, requesting it be rebuilt to 10 meters wide and the curves straightened
in the year 2000, have been received The Executive Committee has received
other copies of letters on this issue and noted the County had previously responded
and further noted the province would be taking over the construction and
maintenance of the secondary highways effective April 1 2000
Executive Committee recommends to concur with the previous Executive
Committee recommendation pertaining to this matter, and further, to accept
and file.
9 Feb.6 /00 Letter from the Alberta Motor Association re. Destination Guide
Signage at Rural and Secondary Road Intersections
A request form for rural road signage has been received from the Alberta Motor
Association asking that it be completed, with any locations and destinations for
which signs are needed by April 30, 2000 in order to be accommodated in this
years program For many years the Alberta Motor Association has provided this
program as a public service
Executive Committee recommends to accept and file.
10 Feb 14/00 Agreement between William D Stewart and Kneehill County
Four copies of an Agreement for Acquisition of Land (17 feet along the easterly
side of the N E of 2 31 -23 W4), as a condition and requirement for completion of
an 8 0 acre subdivision has been received for signatures r I L

11 Jan 25/00 Kneehill Community Resource Program Employment Agreement
Two copies of a Kneehill Community Resource Program Family Resource Worker
Employment Agreement between Izabella Zalewski, and Kneehill County has been
received for signatures
Executive committee recommends the Kneehill Community Resource Program`s
Employment Agreement, between Izabella Zalewski and Kneehill County, be
signed
12 Ambulance Dispatch Services Agreement
Three copies of the Ambulance Dispatch Services Agreement between the City of v D Moo
Red Deer and Kneehill County have been received for signatures

Agreement, between the City of Red Deer and Kneehill County, be signed
13 Carbon Shot)
The Carbon shop, which houses the School Division truck and equipment, was
broken into twice this week The Public Works Superintendent has made
arrangements with Ken McLean that the Golden Hills School Division will provide
the labor to remove and strengthen the door housing and install dead bolts and
window locks with Kneehill County paying for the cost of materials Mr McCook
mentioned how untidy the shop was being kept

Executive Committee recommends the Public Works Superintendent resolve the
matter of securing the building and also request that Mr McLean keep the
building tidy.
Feb.10 /2000 Letter from Village of Linden re Signage at Kneehill
Ambulance/Linden Fire Hall
A request has been received from the Village of Linden for the County to erect
signs on either side of the street entrance to the County owned Fire Hall advising
pedestrians to take caution when entering this area as there has been some near
misses with emergency vehicles leaving the hall
Executive Committee recommends a letter be sent explaining Kneehill County
does not consider this an issue, as traffic rules and regulations must be
followed even during emergency situations.
Trochu Fire Department Report
The Trochu Fire Department has submitted their report for the period of January
14 to February 2, 2000 inclusive
Executive Committee recommends to accept and file.
Feb 16/2000 Letter from Mountain View Credit Union re. Bank of Montreal
Purchases
Mountain View Credit Union has purchased the Bank of Montreal branches
located in Morrin and Carbon and it is their intention to operate both as full service
branches
Executive Committee recommends to accept and file.
