HomeMy WebLinkAbout1999-06-03 Council MinutesL N EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE REPORT il NE 3 1999 The Executive Committee of Otto Hoff Richard M Vickery, and Jane Allan met on Thursday June 6, 1999, at the Kneehill County office in Three Hills, commencing at 8 25 AN Also present were John C Jeffery Administrator, Lonnie D McCook Public Works Superintendent and Barbara Long Recording Secretary 1_ AESA Funding Application A letter was received from Alberta Agriculture Conservation and Development Branch advising the Agricultural Service Board that the application for funding in the amount of $34 186 00 from the AESA Program had been approved and asking for the agreement to be signed and returned s, J fled - �i� , Executive Committee recommends that the grant agreement be duly signed cc � 2 WCB Funding Policy A letter was received from WCB advising the updating of their Funding Policy to help ensure long term rate stability by allowing the Fund Balance to exceed 110% and to be F cL i) replenished to 110% over three years instead of one Executive Committee recommends to accept and file 3— Cosway Adiacent Landowners Meeting & Interest to Purchase CPR Abandoned Right of Way Land An invitation was received from the Cosway Adjacent Landowners Association to attend a meeting on Monday June 21 1999 at 7 30 P M in the Three HMIs Community Centre Kneehill County also received a copy of a letter to the Trans Canada Trail Foundation expressing an interest in purchasing the right of way Cosway to Wimborne Cosway to Kirkpatrick and Cosway to Irricana for the express purpose of consolidating the rights of r' way with the quarter sections of land from which they were taken Executive Committee recommends to accept and file 4— Mav 20, 1999 Letter from AT & U A letter was received from Walter Paszkowsk Minister of Transportation and Utilities advising that the Traffic Safety Act has received Royal Assent Executive Committee recommends to accept and file F, L. rL -t) 4 Animal Control Officer Carbon A fax was received on May 29 1999 from Mrs Vetter informing Council that the Village of Carbon had hired a dog bylaw officer and giving the penalties being used for offenses Executive Committee recommends to accept and file F, I. a ,) 5— Request Acme Fire ,_, TreAse ►ill Bert Jackson requested a radio for an extra rescue truck that was donated to the Fire re%r` F, r Department to be used for the transporting extra equipment Discussion regarding the C""'w storage and maintenance of this unit was discussed — Lablet, n-eii mee4i ny CL J , J Executive Committee recommends that this be tabled until further discussed at the next � I Fire Committee meeting v �l/a�i01414 t 6. Village of Torrington Re plot is Mr Jeffery reported that the Village of Torrington is in need of re surveying and there is a grant of $275 000 00 in reserve There are currently several plans, lots with the same legal description survey pins cannot be located and there is difficulty determining boundaries of individual lots Mr McCook advised needs to be pinned in order to FILE, n determine liabilities and for the installation of water and sewer Executive Committee recommends that a re plot of the Village of Torrington be done and that Mr McCook and Mr Jeffery obtain an estimate from Mr R Arthurs Mr McCook left the meeting at 10 15 A M 8. Fire Commission Statistical Reports A copy was received of the 1995 and 1996 Fire Commissioner s Statistical Report Executive Committee recommends to accept and file e. E 11.Torrington Tourism Rent A letter was received from the Torrington Tourism Action Society recognizing Kneehill County s notification to reduce the rent to $25 00 a month Executive Committee recommends to accept and file CC 1?. Keiver's Lake Recreation Area Grant A letter was received from Shirley McClellan of Alberta Sport, Recreation Parks and Wildlife Foundation advising of the direct deposit of $8 000 00 to help operate the Fi facilities Executive Committee recommends to accept and file 13. Alberta Community Development Volunteer Recognition Awards A letter was received from Alberta Community Development advising of the Energize Workshop to be held October 24 26 1999 and sending nomination forms and criteria Executive Committee recommends that Kneehill Countv accept and file r) 4-k o 14.Intermunicipal Dispute Resolution Initiative A letter was received from Alberta Municipal Affairs announcing a new Inter Municipal Dispute Resolution Initiative to facilitate the settlement of disputes between municipalities as well as between municipalities and other agencies and boards Executive Commillec reconiutencls to accept chid /file 15. Legislation Summary 1999 Spring Session AAMD &C • A summary of the legislation dealt with in the 1999 spring session was received from AAMD &C F, Executive Committee recommends to accept and file 0 17. Intensive Livestock Regulatory Review Update An update and review of the status of the Livestock Regulations Stakeholders Advisory Group established to assist in the review of intensive livestock regulation was received from AAMD &C Executive Committee recommends to accept and file with any comments given to Mr Rusling or Mr Sommerville 18.
