The town wanted to address two issues of concern they are having - 1 The Town dump 2 Ditch erosion problem south of town a The town of Trochu public works committee was upset and concerned about a site inspection of the dump by Drumheller waste management and environment Apparently the truck driver reported some concerns of improper procedures taking place at the dump A discussion took place on the attendant's responsibility to make sure proper supervision of dumping takes place and it is the town that hires this employee Mr McCook spoke on the issue and how it is the attendant s job to make sure no dumping takes place without supervision. Mr McCook addressed the situation the County is now in with environment and health at the new site the County is trying to develop for a rubble site and dump. If everything goes good this could take some pressure off the town's rubble pit by having the County ratepayers go to this pit. It would be up to the town to make a deal with the County for their residents to make use of the site The towns public works committee along with Bob and Lonnie went to have a look at the town dump. The first concern that was looked at were the transfer boxes. The town felt they needed three boxes to handle all the waste coming in, Mr Boake suggested the town get hold of Ray at Drumheller and see if the truck could make another stop rather than going to high expense to put another box up. The committee felt there should be a cement pad for the truck to sit on while dumping, Mr McCook addressed what the County has done in there transfer sites and told the committee what there responsibilities are along with the dump attendant. The committee then toured the remainder of the dump. The rubble pit is on the north end of property line with no room for expansion. Mr McCook explained the town had little or no options left for a new pit. There is no common dirt left to stack pit on pit and no room to get a 3 1 slope for a new pit on the north end. Explained to the comimttee was the procedure to reclaim the site and how the town will have to find common dirt and black to accomplish this. The committee went to the road heading south to St. Ann's Ranch Some of the town s members were concerned with an erosion problem in the east ditch. After a short discussion on whose road is whose the town had a few ideas of how to fix things.Mr McCook asked the question "what is the real problem here" because erosion happens in every ditch and this is nothing new Maureen told everyone that Mr Dan Frere couldn't mow the ditch. McCook explained to everyone about right of ways and who owns them and liabilities of placing structures in situations like this. There is no need for the town to go to great expense to fix a little problem of this nature when a few flax bales will do the trick, along with some ditch blocks. McCook and Boake left the site meeting over
