EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE REPORT - June 5th 1997
The Executive Committee of Otto Hoff and Rick Vickery met on Thursday, June 51" 1997 at
the M.D of Kneehill office in Three Hills, commencing at 9 00 A.M Mr John Jeffery
Administrator and Mr Lonnie McCook, Public Works Superintendent, were also present

1 Mt Vernon Water Co on Notice of Special Meeting
A letter has been received from the Mt Vernon Water Co op advising of a special meeting
to be held Monday, June 9t", 1997 at 7 30 p.m in the Three Hills Provincial Building The
purpose of the meeting is to approve revised bylaws of the Mt Vernon Water Co op
Association and for a progress report
Executive Committee recommends Ali Hanger attend of he) vishes
2 Equalization Grants Preliminary Proposal
Delegates of the 1997 A.A.M.D & C Spring Convention endorsed a resolution urging
the Government of Alberta to implement a new form of equalization funding for
municipalities District meetings have been scheduled to discuss a preliminary model for
equalization funding as developed by the Board There will be a meeting in Three Hills
June 24 °i 1997 at 9 30 a.m
Executive Committee recommends to accept and file as information and Nlr Jeffery
attend the meeting
3. 1997 Gravel Days
1997 gravel days were discussed
Executive Committee recommends to advertise gravel days at the Schinautz Pit, for
screenings only, June 26 & 27, 1997from 8 00 a. nn. to S 00 p. nn. both days and the
loader operator will take care of the billing
4 Brush Control
The A.A.M.D & C have sent results of a survey on brush control
Executive Committee recommends to accept and file as information.
5 S.H 836.02 Paving Project
A letter has been received from Alberta Transportation & Utilities advising that after a
review of the design and tender package submitted by Torchinsky Engineering Ltd and
subsequent changes being made the M.D can now proceed with publicly advertising
tendering of this work
Executive Committee recommends a letter be sent to Colin Stroeder, Torchinsky
Engineering Ltd, to tender as soon as possibly

6 Full Time Year Round Employees

Executive Committee recommends due to the fiict some emrployees have been full trite
year round for several years the Public Works Superintendent be authorized to hire up
to four (4) persons beiiib in this category to be full tinie status employees complete with
benefits.
7 Bulk Purchase of Cadastral M-ippmg Data
The A.A.M.D & C have been in discussions with Alberta Environment and Spatial Data
Warehouse (SDW) to negotiate a bulk purchase of cadastral mapping data SDW have
proposed a one time volume subscription arrangement SDW will allow a subscription of
up to 1270 townships of mapping data The cost will be $50 00 per township plus an
annual subscription fee not to exceed $18 00 per annum per township The maximum cost
of accessing the mapping data will be $140 00 per township over five years plus a $50 00
per municipality handling fee The update fee entitle members up to two updates per year
and any additional updates will be negotiated on a specific fee for service basis
Executive Committee recommends ds the A.A.M D. & C. be advised the M D. of A neehilh
agrees to the bulk purchase of the mapping data
8. Kneehill Ambulance Service Board Minutes
The minutes of the May 21" 1997 meeting of the Kneehill Ambulance were reviewed
Executive Committee recommend to accept rand file as information
9. Appointment of Subdivision and Development Anneal Board Members at Large
The Executive Committee was given authority to appoint members at large to the
SDAB
Executive Committee recommend Mr Dale Cameron and Mr Charlie Whatley be A3e.rarA��v
appointed to the SDAB and an advertisement be put in the Capital advising the M. D. is
looking for 2 more mnemibers at large.
10. Telephone System - Changing From Telus to Sprint
Mr Cunningham has obtained long distance phone rates from Telus and Sprint Telus
rates are cheaper
Executive Committee recommend the M.D stay )Pith Telus and not change to ,Sprint.
11. M inagement of Alberta's Parks and Recreation Areas
The A.A.M.D & C have sent a copy of a document and news release prepared by
Environmental Protection Minister Ty Lund regarding the management of Alberta's recreation
and protected areas which balances recreation heritage appreciation tourism and preservation
in our recreation and protected areas The strategy outlines how the government will allocate
resources to protect sensitive wild spaces and to continue building a parks system for future
generations to enjoy into the next century
Executive Committee recommend to accept and file. r
