March 3 1997
The Capital Committee of Glen Wagstaff, Rick Vickery, Jim Hanger Robert Boake and
Lonnie McCook met on Monday March 3rd, 1997, at the M.D of Kneehill offices,
commencing at 9 10 A.M
Mr McCook recorded the minutes of the meeting
The following items were discussed
1 Mr McCook reported the steamer, tank and hose had been purchased and is at the
M.D shop Cost $10,423 00 plus GST
2 The committee discussed the need to purchase two divisional graders for Divisions 4
and 7 The committee discussed the pros and cons of putting these out to tender and
also the size required Mr McCook noted the Cat 160H is a glorified 140G that is
heavier and has more power The 14H is too big for a divisional all around machine
In the summer you don't need that big a machine to blade gravel and in the winter
sometimes the 14G is not big enough Mr Vickery noted there are more summer
months than winter months and we have to look at the big picture Mr Wagstaff and
Mr Boake expressed their concerns with Champion and the amount of trouble and
down time we have had along with poor resale value
The Capital Committee recommends Mr McCook obtain a cash price, along with a
trade price, for No ne)v 160Hs, trading the 198714G and the 198 7 140Gfrom
Finning This committee further recommends no tender be called for the purchase
of these machines.
3 A discussion was held on the use of the M.D pusher and the manpower required to
operate this machine Mr Hanger noted if the M.D is not involved in our own
projects that renting out this equipment would tie up too many of the staff thus leaving
other projects on the back burners Mr McCook noted the M.D paid $33 000 00 for
the pusher and felt we would be able to get our money out of it if sold Mr Hanger
mentioned that the M.D could always purchase another machine if the need arose for
other M.D projects
The Capital Commdtee recommends Mr McCook look into the prices for selling --rd--f nu-, -zo
the pusher and attachments.
4 The committee reviewed, item by item, a revised 1997 capital list The intent was to
