HomeMy WebLinkAbout1996-06-27 Council Minutes• 0 40 M D OF KNEEHILL NO 48 ROAD COMMITTEE REPORT - JUNE 27'� , 1996 The Road Committee of the M.D of Kneehill met on Thursday, June 27`h, 1996 commencing at 8 00 A.M The following were present Richard M Vickery Councillor Division #6 James M Hanger Councillor Division #5 Lonnie D McCook Public Works Superintendent The following roads were inspected and recommendations made 1 Grad Walker/Petroland Services Request for Approach SE 2- 35 -25 -W4 Road Conunrttee recommends the approach is okay, where it is, but the oil company must put up truck turning signs to the east and west of the approach. A letter to be sent to the company, stating this requirement along with a copy of the MD. 's standard approach policy 2 Grad Walker First time gravel request from the north road into 10 24- 34 -25 -W4 This is a dirt road allowance for '' /z mile Road Committee looked at the two rile stretch of road that has gravel from the south end up for 'A mile Road Committee recommends no gravel be put on this road but screenings be used for the remaining ungravelled portion. 3 Request for ditch work Dave Swanson NW 23- 34 -24 -W4 Road Committee recommends Mr McCook speak to Mr Swanson and go over problem in the fall 4 Mr Dan Richardson - Request for 1 mile of gravel W- 26- 34 -22 -W4 Road Committee recommends the request for gravel be denied because no one lives on the roar, We cannot be gravelling roads because someone wants to haul grain when it is wet. A letter to be sent to Mr Richardson denying his request. 5 Mr. Clarence Peters Request to use existing road approach - 15-34-23-W4 Road Committee recommends Mr Peters be allowed to use the existing approach for a residential entrance A letter be sent to Mr. Peters advising him of this with the understanding some of the carriganias be cleared on the north side of the approach. 6 Ms. Dawn Sumner - Request for gravel in front of store in Huxley Road Committee recommends the small amount of work required for this request be addressed when the crew re -does the Huxley streets 7 Mr Ernie Meding - Request for approach widening and culvert extension East of 24- 33 -23 -W4 Road Committee recommends a letter be sent to Mr Meding advising the culvert extension and approach widening be approved and will be done as soon as the crews get caught up 1 -:j� rhoqo 7Ad5 r r M. D OF KNEEHILL NO 48 ROAD COMMITTEE REPORT - JUNE 27'�ff, 1996 8 Herman Issler Proiect - WSW 14 33 24 -W4 Road Committee recommends 0 K to write off 500 m. of road and ditch cut 9 Torrington Hutterite Colonv - Request for gravel on their south hog barn approach, gravel on Range Rd 26 -4 from Mike Page's to Klassen's and send us a bill for road repair on east side of Schmautz Pit Road Committee recommends that no gravel be put onto the approach into hog barn, it is pit run now and if a load is needed they have lots of gravel Road Committee recommends no gravel be put on the dirt. The concern about gravelling a dirt road was denied because the road itself is alright for the amount of traffic and its use. The Committee also recommends not to accept any hill from the Hutterites for the road east of the Schmautz Pit. 10 Mr. Paul Van Doren Request for first time gravel E 34 -31 25 -W4 Jeap Sof Road Committee recommends no gravel be placed on this road as it is a trail If it becomes a road priority it will be addressed at that time I 1 Transfer Site Inspections Road Committee stopped at Linden to have a look at the transfer site. In discussions with the attendant, not much was found wrong there His comment about the truck trailer being 4" higher than the old. one seemed strange 4ee-e m,W��Es The Torrington transfer site was also looked at The same conditions there as at Linden, not that much wrong Road Committee looked at Carbon site, in the rain and felt there might be more to the driving ability of the outfit than the sites themselves 12 Murray Woods S of 2 -31 26 -W4 - undeveloped road allowance that is grassed in and rutted Road Committee looked at this and felt there is not much to be done Mr McCook to --7'&--r MOO 7 PJS look at and fix as best as possible 13 Request for approach onto Linden East Road - 26- 30 -25 -W4 Road Committee inspected the site and found approach already installed Road Committee recommends to leave the approach at this location and a letter be sent to Mr Andy Mandell stating our concerns about road approaches being put in without permission. Also, to include in the letter the standards the approach must meet or it will be taken out at their expense. 14 Chauveo Resources Request for approach - 13 -29 24 -W4 Road Committee recommends to approve approach and a letter be sent to the company stating our standards for approaches Also, if this well is a producer, the portion of undeveloped road allowance must be built to our standards 15 High Caliber Ranching concern 16 -29 23 -W4 Road Committee recommends Mr McCook obtain more information from both parties 46. &e..", and then the Road Committee will re -look at this 2 F. OF KNEEHILL NO 98 ROAD COMMITTEE REPORT - JUNE 27TH, 1996 16 Request for first time gravel - W 27- 29 -21 -W4 This road was sod busted with the intent the oil company would pay for gravelling In the mean time the company sold and another request has come forth Road Comnuttee recommends a letter be sent to Mr Ed Peak, West Drum Oil, asking if they would he interested in sharing with the gravel costs for this road 17 Road Approach request off SH 841 Renaissance NW 4- 28 -20 -W4 Road Committee recommends a letter he sent authorizing this approach as long as it meets our standards and finished top or it be removed at their expense. 18 Road Bans Road Committee recommends SH 575 road ban be set at 100% and Linden West be set at 90% ® The road Committee returned to Three Hills and adjourned its meeting - time 6 30 P M.
