PUBLIC WORKS SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT
TUESDAY, APRIL 23, 1996
1 Put the 14G 1987 up into Division 7 and the 1995 Champion grader into Division 2
2 To meet codes for our underground oil tank 111 have to do a test to determine what
shape its in. The estimate of the test is $500 00 Once the test is completed we'll then
know what our next move will be
Wimborne tank and piping also needs work to meet code Cathodic protection to the
piping and line leak detection along with tank detection is needed Estimate is for
$4300 00 plus G S T and monitor wells are extra We re trying to see what otherP 2oF
alternatives there are but things are looking pretty slim
4 Price quotes on crackfillmg oil and chip oil have been received Koch was low at
1747 /11tre on HF 150 and Ace was low at $71 00 /drum on crackfiller
5 I had the pile measured at 21 & 27 We hauled all the base material that we had and
we are short The 3/4' road gravel we have crushed falls into base spec so we will
finish off our quantities needed with it 111 have the gravel boys work longer hours
and get it hauled before the contractor fires up on the Buffalo Jump
6 We ve received a list of sign inventory and others from Alberta Transportation that
they are selling off by submitting prices that we are willing to pay I'll go over the list
with Henry and see what is needed and we will submit a price for signs required
(They figure 30% less than new price)
7 Need to set a date for Road Committee sometime towards end of the week or first
part of next week
8 We re starting crackfilling and patching with some general labor
9 If it dries up the road crew will be doing some small projects before heading down to
Dressers
