CAPITAL COMMITTEE MEETING NOVEMBER 27, 1995
The Capital Committee of Rick Vickery, Jim Hanger, Glen
Wagstaff and Lonnie McCook, Public Works Superintendent, met on
Monday, November 27, 1995 at 10.15 a m
1 Items were discussed that weren't sold last go -round and
T -28 1987 Ford 1/2 -Ton
Recommendation was to get more information from auction
places
2 A review of the grader fleet was discussed We wanted to
keep costs down and trade or sell machines one at a time,
not three We talked about shifting a cat grader down
from road crew to a divisional and replacing the crew
grader This would give us a better trading value on
divisional machines.
Recommendation was to get cash price on 14G.
3 A review of the gravel fleet was discussed. After some
review between myself and Miles, we are recommending to
drop a gravel truck (T -57) This discussion tied into
concerns about our sanding fleet At the present time,
with the Buffalo Jump and Linden Nursing Home Road added,
three trucks are plowing 77 miles one way. By dropping
T -57 down into a sand truck and utility truck in the
summer, the trucks would then be plowing 56 miles Our
sanding units are old, but in good mechanical shape
Recommendation was to get prices and more information on
a slip in front discharge sander and plow
4 Half -tons and 3/4 -tons were discussed
Recommendation was to leave as is for now
5. One -tons and vans T -53 van is in bad shape along with
T -15 and T -51 one -tons There is no more room for
movement of these units. We have to get something newer
into fleet so we have room for movement
Recommendation was to replace T -53 with a good used Hutt
van, replace T -15 with a good used and T -51 with new
Prices will be obtained
6 Jennifer entered meeting to discuss computer updating
Capital Committee discussed it and then called Herman
in. More discussion
Recommendation No decision would be made at this time,
until more information and possibly an independent
consultant to review our system
