ROAD COMMITTEE March 9, 1995
The road committee of the M D of Kneehill meet on Thursday, March
9th, 1995 commencing at 9.00 A.M.
The following were present.
Otto Hoff, Councillor Division # 2
Richard M Vickery, Councillor Division #6 (after 9 30 A M )
Lonnie McCook, Public Works Superintendent
Jennifer Deak, Assistant Administrator
The following roads were inspected and recommendations made-
Art Pryor N W 24- 33 -25 -W4
Mr Pryor has requested the M.D widen a road approach into his
residence It was noted that the approach probably has a culvert
into the yard and that dirt could be hauled from the side slope,
to the east
Road Committee recommend to approve request to widen approach and
that the approach should be widened to the east
2 D R Hurl & Associates 5- 23- 32 -27 -W4
D R Hurl & Associates, on behalf of their client, Chancellor
Energy Resources Inc , have requested permission to construct an
approach as well as utilize the road allowance into well site. It
was noted that this is an undeveloped road allowance abutting the
M D boundary.
Road Committee recommend to approve request on condition the east
side of the road allowance is used; the road is maintained by the
company, should the well be a production well and further activity Lc
follows, the road will need rebuilding to accommodate increased
traffic, therefore request the company advises us of same ceogAco,,
The road committee proceeded to Linden via SH 806 and it was noted
that the line painting on SH 806, between SH 583 and Linden, is in
very good condition
The road committee lunched in Linden and was joined by
Mr Bob Boake
3 Dean Penner S W 36- 29 -25 -W4
Mr Penner has requested road improvement to access this location
from SH 575 Mr Penner is planning on building a home at this
location with a possible commencement date this summer It was
noted that this is an undeveloped road allowance. The possibility
of accessing the location from the west was reviewed but Mr Boake
advised the committee that such a road would require buggy work, a
culvert and land purchase Accessing from SH 575 would only
require grader work to do a blade grade. It was uncertain
exactly where the new house would be located and Mr Boake stated
he would ascertain the exact location of the building project
Road Committee recommend a blade grade road to access the location ;seSar
from SH 575 but this only be undertaken once permits are taken out
and approved for the house construction
Mr Boake left the road committee
4 D R Hurl & Associates 3- 18- 30 -22 -W4
D R Hurle & Associates, on behalf of their client, Gulf Canai
Resources Ltd., has requested consent to construct a ro
approach. This location is just north of Grant McIntosh
residence and on undeveloped road allowance It was noted the
the oil company has not commenced operations at this location yet

ROAD COMMITTEE March 9, 1995
Road Committee recommend permission be given to construct the
approach on the undeveloped road allowance Z-,-»csayi
5 D R Hurl & Associates Ltd 5- 16- 30 -22 -W4
D R Hurl & Associates, on behalf of their client Gulf Canada
Resources Ltd. have requested consent to construct an approach It
was noted that this is the same set up as the above request
Road Committee recommend permission be given to construct the
approach on the undeveloped road allowance
6 SH 575 at Nacmine
The road committee proceeded east on SH 575 by Nacmine A request
for signage, before the curves at Nacmine, had been approved at
the last Council meeting
Road Committee recommend curve signs be placed at this location 1csn,o
and speed limit reduced to 60 kilometres around the curve sections 9 Pins
of the road
7 S W 18- 28 -20 -W4
This location is two miles south of Highway #9, on Mr Jensen's
property It was noted that the culvert, on the east side of the
road, is too high and needs to be lowered. Also, the ditch on
the east side of the road and north of the culvert needs to be
cleaned to allow the water to run south to the culvert
Road Committee recommend the Public Works Superintendent address
the culvert and the ditch cleaning this spring
8 Highway #9 Twnshp Rd 28 -2 Rge Rd 22 -2
This location is S E 14- 28 -22 -W4 across from the Tea House on
Highway #9 Mr. Hoff informed the committee he had received a
request for a more accessible approach into the tea house to
accommodate tourist buses The tea house, is located on the south
side of the road, in the County of Wheatland Mr Brian Miller
resides on the north side of the road, in the M D of Kneehill,
and across from the tea house There are approaches to access each
location The committee noted the sight distance is poor because
of the curves in the road and the further east travelled the
better the sight distance Mr Hoff has advised the owners to
make their request to AB Transportation He noted that perhaps
the M D workforce could contract to construct an approach similar
to that of Mr Paget's on Highway #21
Road Committee recommend to accept and file as information
9 Pan Canadian S W 16- 28 -23 -W4
Mr Hoff informed the road committee that Pan Canadian will be
requesting a road approach on the east side of this legal It was
noted that the sight distance is good
Road Committee recommend to accept and file information.
r The road committee proceeded to Three Hills via Swalwell and noted
a large metal building sitting on the lot across from the Yates'
house A request was made to check this out with the development
officer
