Gravel Crew has started up again and are hauling to 21 & 27 stockpile for this week 3 We will need to rent the Dyna -Pack 501 packer again this year Cost is Ube $7500 00 per month We will need it for 4 -5 months 4 We need to replace the cattle pass N W of Linden in N W 36- 30 -26 -4. Can we replace with a piece of 6 foot used culvert? We have a piece in the yard which is about the right length 5 I got a price from Alberta Road Management for doing the crackfilling for us this year Their price may be a little better than ours but I think we should do it ourselves because we will need this to keep our guys busy 6 Is Council going to let the grader men work 12 hour shifts this summer again? I think it worked quite well last year and see no reason why they can't if they are agreeable to it. 7 Lonnie McCook and myself met with the Hutterian Brethren of Valleyview to see what they want re ditch cleaning They would like a water run closed off and redirected down the ditch. this will require ditch cleaning and culverts through intersection and 2 approaches approximately 11 lengths of pipe and AGT cable involved 8 Wages for temporary employees 0 • 0 c: 2 WAGE SCALE FOR TEMPORARY EMPLOYEES BASED ON 1984 CONTRACT With the way in which public works has cut and trimmed full time staff, we are faced with some crews being made up mostly of temporary people Some of this staff is paid on the top end of wage scales that are pre -set, due to the fact that they are good operators with experience and we as foreman want them coming back year after year We are always looking and improving the quality of our personnel, who are expected to work as hard and put out quality work along side our full time staff. These men make up crews that are productive and cost effective, and are as much a part of the M.D 's success in these areas, yet we don't pay on an equal basis. We as foreman, who have put crews together consisting of temporary employees, need to have something to offer good, key, temporary people in order to keep them coming back for 5 -6 month seasons There is no longer the manpower to start training great numbers of men and its to costly. Therefore we cannot penalize top paid part -time employees with a 5% roll back in wages when it really doesn't effect anyone on the lower end of the scales I would propose we not roll back the temporary staff 5 %, but we sit down with the foreman and superintendent and revamp part -time wages } L Yc% ra a E m b I W 0 0 0 0 I D Z n m m z 0 O T K O z `z m m U) D IL r- 0 D z DU m v m z m O m 'o O m tRj ,I1I :! <`n ttl v OD m Z n 2 O N CD N cn o D n 2 vl (ma 1'11'11 f Ii Iln Z m m U' m D 7° o r Z' -o 7[l O m m m 70 K m v =i m m O (n = cNil cn °i , N w K O z —{ -C m D Z ( m _ m G7 Z G) TO N O V Iilrl; flgi4 !1 I!ajl I,Ir!i kll '1„i "iI - I111! A ry riIaII'j1ii V ;II 11d i'Yillh l I , Il jl Ali"I W l0 N N J —' W O w O A '1.1'1''1 -!
