The toilet which can be accessed by disabled persons has been constructed and will be put at the park this spring There was discussion as to whether Keivers Lake park would continue to operate if the provincial budget cuts affect the operational grant of $20,000.00 Also what would happen to the park if Council decide to shut down the water pumping project and the lake dried up Mr Thomas noted the 1993 park revenue was the highest ever The financial statement was reviewed and it was noted the 1993 camping receipts were $9110 22 and in 1992 were $5800.01 What was done with the $100,000 original grant was reviewed for the information of the committee The cost for power to pump water into the lake was also reviewed The power costs for 1993 was $3385 57 and it appears likely about $2500 00 would be the cost to pump water into the lake Some ratepayers have indicated this project is a waste of money and the well should be shut down It appears the revenue from the park is increasing and perhaps having water available for the children to play in and an attendant there makes the park more attractive to the people. Mr. Thomas noted Allen Mills has indicated he would be willing to return as park attendant for 1994 if Council wish to have him The 1993 park attendant contract was reviewed The Parks Committee recommend Allen Mills be asked to return as park attendant for the 1994 season and subject to his acceptance of the position, the contract rate be set at $6500 00 for the season The Parks Committee also recommend there be no increase in the camping fee for 1994 There was discussion about the cost of providing fire wood and whether the M D should be charging for it The Parks Committee will discuss the idea with Mr Mills Perhaps he could bundle the wood, sell it at a reasonable rate and the revenue be shared between the M.D and himself. The park regulations were reviewed and the committee made no recommendation for any changes It was generally felt there is no need to make any major changes or improvements at the park at this time e meeting alIc g-o=ed at 2 00 P M.
