EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE REPORT SEPTEMBER 22nd 1993
The Executive Committee of Richard A Marz and Robert E. Boake
met on Wednesday, September 22nd, 1993 at the M D. of Kneehill
office in Three Hills, commencing at 9.00 A M
John C Jeffery, Municipal Administrator was present and
Mrs Jean Wilkinson, Assistant Administrator was present and
recorded the minutes
The following items were discussed
1 Allen Toews - Road Approach SE 8- 31 -25 -4
Mr Toews has indicated he is not prepared to sign the letter
sent to him August 17th regarding fixing up his road approach
He would likely sign the letter if the M D provides him with 2
to 4 buggy loads of dirt for the approach He wants it to be
fixed up properly so he can grass and mow the area.
Executive committee recommend the M.D agree to provide a
maximun of 2 buggy loads of dirt, if same is necessary, on
condition Mr Toews provides the dirt from land he owns and the
land is within one mile of the project.
2 Transfer Garbage Boxes
No bids have been received for the used transfer boxes which
were removed from the Three Hills Transfer site
Executive Committee recommend the Public Works Superintendent
arrange to have the boxes disposed of to a scrap metal dealer
3 Policy 8 -5 - Rate for Hauling Water to Fires
Policy 8 -5 sets a rate of $15 00 per load which the M D will
pay if someone is hired to haul water for a fire However this
limit was removed from the Trochu fire agreement recently
Therefore perhaps the policy is no longer required
Executive Committee recommend policy 8 -5 be cancelled.
4 Possible Sale 16 Wheel Jeep - Doug Hazelton
Mr Hazelton has not yet submitted a written offer for the jeep
Executive Committee recommend no further action be taken by
council unless a written request is received from Mr Hazelton
5 Perry Farms - Elnora - Account for Fence Replacement
Perry Farms have submitted an account for $599 20 to cover the
cost of replacement of a fence. They feel the M D is
responsible as the fence was damaged during an M.D brushing
operation on the road east of the East half of 34 and N E 27 in
34 -22 -4 back in 1992
Mr Jeffery telephoned Mr. Perry and discussed the matter with
him during Executive Committee meeting
Executive Committee recommend the Road Committee meet with Bruce
Perry and discuss the issue with him and bring a report back to
council

6. 1993/94 Organizational Meeting
Council must set a date for the 1993/49 organizational meeting I
Executive Committee recommend the organizational meeting be held aa�e-
on Tuesday, October 26th, 1993. Chwnyed

7 1994 Census Questions
The questions which were drafted for use in taking the 1994 M.D.
census were reviewed and discussed One or two of the questions
need to be clarified as to intent
Executive Committee recommend the intent of some of the s�n�
questions be clarified and the draft questions be approved for PAL
use in the 1994 census
8. Leon Root, Deputy Minister, Regional Trans ortation
Leon Root is retiring effective October 31st, 1993 He has
spent 33 years working for Alberta Transportation A retirement
dinner is planned for the Mayfield Inn, Edmonton on October
28th, 1993 Tickets $28 00 per person payable in advance
Executive committee recommend Reeve Marz and one other
councillor be authorized to attend the retirement dinner
Note. Question was asked if you wish to make a presentation on
behalf of your organization and this issue was not dealt with by
Executive Committee
9 CTAP Program
Chairman of the Community Tourism Action

10 Welsh & Company - Lawrence Hogq Claim
The trial for this matter has been set for October 28th at 11.00
A M in Three Hills Mr. Welsh will be attending

11. Marigold Library
Mrs. Norma Bondar of Trochu on behalf of the 5 libraries in
Kneehill has requested time to meet with the M D Council on
October 12th to present council with information about the
services provided by Marigold Wormsworth - a tall furry green
bookworm - will accompany them

Executive Committee recommend the group be given an appointment reikr
with a maximum of 10 minutes time on the October 12th agenda sons

12 AAMD & C Fall Convention Seminar
Larry Goodhope advises due to some concerns expressed by various
muncipalities, the seminar which was to be put on by Dr Lance
Secretan at the Fall Convention has been cancelled.
Executive Committee recommend to accept and file as information
13 Midas Resources - Permission to Install Texas Gate
Midas Resouces have a well on LSD 4- 14- 29 -24 -4 Landowner Bob
Elliott would like the company to install a texas gate at the
south end of their access road so he can contain his cattle in
the S W 14 The texas gate would be on the south end of the
north south road west of the S W 14, which is an undeveloped
road allowance.
Executive Committee recommend if the company is prepared to sign
the necessary responsibility agreement with the M D permission
would be granted and the necessary by -law passed
14 Alberta Liquor Control Board -
Liquor Control Board has forwarded information about its liquor
stores which are up for sale
Executive Committee recommend to accept and file as information
15 Special Places 2000 Alberta's Natural Heritage

M.L A. Carol Haley has forwarded information about the Special
Places 2000 which has a vision of completing a network of
protected areas in Alberta by the turn of the century. Council `recd
has previously rceived information about this issue
Executive Committee recommend to accept and file as information.
16 September 14th Council Minutes
The September 14th council minutes were reviewed and items to be
deleted before publication were agreed upon
