The Executive Committee of J Finlay Code, Robert E. Boake
Richard M Vickery met on Friday, November 1st, 1991 commen,
at 10 00 A M
John C. Jeffery, Administrator was present and recorded
minutes
The following items were reviewed
1 Alberta Transportation - Traffic Count Data - SR 575
Alberta Transportation did
east of SR 575 and SH 791
per day The second count
SR 575 and SR 806 and it s:
They also provided turning
locations in that area
a traffic count 6 9 km
which showed 210 vehicles
was taken 0.6 km east of
Bowed 460 vehicles per day
movement diagrams for three

2. Alberta Transportation - Information re RTAC Vehicles
on Secondary Highways
Alberta Transportation advise 6 axle semi trailers and
8 axle Super B trains were allowed to use the primary
highway system in Alberta Also could use secondary
highways were bridges were adequate under authority of a
permit issued by Transportation and with permission from
local authority to use their roads. Permit listed
all restricted bridges All bridges on secondary
roads have now been evaluated and posted and to reduce
administration work would request an agreement from
municipalities to allow movement of these vehicles under
regulations rather than requiring permits from the
Province and the local areas Truckers would still
be subject to road restrictions during spring ban time.
If M D is in agreement a letter should be forwarded to
Alberta Transportation indicating such agreement
Executive Committee recommend a letter be sent to
Transportation indicating the M D 's agreement to this
system
3 Alberta Solicitor General - re. R.C.M.P. Policing
Rural municipalities with populations under 2500 have
requested a higher level of policing in their
communities, in excess of the level provided by the
Province Policy paper has been forwarded which outlines
how a municipality may purchase an enhanced level of
service and acquire an additional officer A formal
announcement of this program will be made at the Fall
Convention

4 Alberta Municipal Affairs - Hamlet Population List

Alberta Municipal Affairs have forwarded their current
listing of populations in hamlets and would ask
the populations be up -dated if possible.

5. University of Alberta Hospital Newsletter
4 University of Alberta Hospitals publish a newsletter
to disseminate information on injury and injury
prevention A copy of the newsletter was enclosed
Subscription to the newsletter is $250 00 per year
for municipal or government corporation.

6 Alberta Environment - Alberta Land Reclamation Program
Alberta Environment have forwarded information about
the Alberta Land Reclamation Program which is now in its
third of five years Applications or inquiries are
invited
Executive Committee recommend to accept and file
7 Arnold Malone - Canada Constitution Reform
Arnold Malone, M P for Crowfoot has forwarded a
booklet about the Government's proposal for
consitituion reform.

8 International Institute of Municipal Clerks
The International Institute of Municipal Clerks have
advised the University of Alberta Government Studies
Program that it would accept students with a Senior
Executives Fellows Degree in their association

9 Alari.e Report
Alarie Report for the month of October has been received
Executive Committee recommend to accept and file as
information
10 Conning The Canadians - Book Two
A brochure has been received from Vic Forster Publications
offering a book called Conning the Canadians Book Two
regarding Quebec's ultimatum to the rest of Canada
Executive Committtee recommend to accept and file
11 Federation of Canadian Municipalities
Federation has forwarded information about their association
and encourages all to join They also forwarded
information about proposed amendments to Canada s
bankruptcy laws which would levy a tax on payrolls to
protect wages of employees in bankrupty situations
