COUNCIL MEETING DECEMBER 11TH 1990
A meeting of the Council of the M D of Kneehill NO 48 was held
on Tuesday, December 11th 1990 commencing at 9 00 A M
The following were present for the meeting

John C Jeffery, Municipal Administrator, was present and
recorded the minutes
Reeve Hoff ca;lled the meeting to order
Mr Harold Mullel 1 er then presented a copy of the new history book, PRESENTATION
"The Spirit olf Ghost Pine", to the M D of Kneehi l l No 48 BY HAROLD
MUELLER
Mr Marz moved a vote of thanks to Mr and Mrs Mueller for this
presentation
CARRIED
The agenda for the meeting was discussed briefly and Mr Marz APPROVAL OF
moved the agenda be approved with the following additions AGENDA
- 199;1 Bridge Priorities
- Mr Code's and Mr Hoff's report re December 3, 1990
meeting
- Mr Marz busing problem, Val Schneider
- Joint meeting with Starland - Suggested January 11,
1991, 11 00 a m
CARRIED
The administrator then reviewed the budget comparision report as BUDGET
of December 5, 1990 as wel 1 as the gravel inventory report and COMPARISON
advised council that, at this time, it appears the budget will be REPORT AS
met or perhaps a small surplus depending on how other inventories OF DEC 5
and actual exFenditures are met
The administrator then reported on behalf of the budget committee BUDGET
and advised that, if all recommendations of the budget and COMMITTEE
employee committee were met, it would be necessary to use REPORT
$900,000 of r serves not used in 1990 as well as increasing taxes
approximately 5% or a making a cut of approximately $400,000

Mr Hoff reported that council's discussion had centered on
decreasing costs Items discussed were
Councillors driving together instead of all taking vehicles
Councillors ;attending, but not charging for recreational
activities such as curling and golf
Joint meetings, only those councillors adjacent to the areas
attend
Asked the administrator to give complete legislative expense
breakdowns every three months
Mr Vickery moved legislative expense be set at $135,000 00 total
for the 1991 budget General discussion followed concerning a
small crew and main crew composition for 1991

Mr Oris Rodger and Lonnie McCook entered the meeting
After some discussion, Mr Hoff moved that there be no small crew SMALL
operation set up for 1991 CREW

Discussion followed and Messrs Rodger and McCook both stated
they felt the operation would be most efficient with four twin
engine buggies and two crawlers

Mr Boake moved to table further discussion to next meeting

It was further agreed to get prices on a new steel roller,
trading CP -10 -80 and to bring these prices to next meeting
Mr Hoff moved the Capital Committee come back with prices for 3 PRICESOF
half tons for next meeting HALF TONS

The administrator was asked to bring in a radio report for the
next meeting as well
Mr Rodger and Mr McCook left the meeting at this time Time

The administrator then reviewed the employee minutes of November EMPLOYEE
29, 1990 recommendations as follows COMMITTEE
