EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE REPORT MAY 8TH. 1987 The Executive Committee of Otto Hoff and J Finlay Code held meeting on Friday, May 8th, 1987 and reviewed 12 items. Time taken 1 hour and 10 minutes ITEM NO 42 Letter from Mr Allen Dick of Swalwell requesting the M.D include in its advertisement of development permits which ha) been approved a short mileage description of the location of development - such as 5 miles east and 1 mile south of the Village of Linden Most people are not familiar with legal 1 locations Committee recommend such a description be included in the M I advertisement. Letter from AAMD &C asking if any jurisdications have encountered problems with seismic activities lately Committee recommend letter be sent advising no recent problems 1��Pr soh encountered by M.D ITEM NO. 47 Letter from Alberta Bridge Branch regarding preventative maintenance program initiated and three bridges in M D will be cleaned and painted in 1987 Bridges are at Hesketh, and at Sharples Committee recommend Bridge Branch be advised M D has no objection to this proposal ITEM NO. 48 Letter from Albera Transportation regarding speed bans and they advise speed bans would only increase damaging effects of heavy loads and should not be used as an alternative to load V\ restrictions when action to protect weak road structures is being considered. Executive committee recommend to accept and file ITEM NO 49 Letter from Stan Schumacher, M L.A. advising the Province has established a committee to review the possibility of establishment of a provincial ambulance policy Committee will be holding hearings in May and June next Recommend council��i�'� start working on a submission if they wish to make one, and advise the committee so a time can be scheduled at the hearing Executive Committee recommend to accept and file and refer the matter to the Kneehill Ambulance Committee (Bruce Hastie) ITEM NO 50 With regard to completion of the M Brown subdivision and re- construction of Sr 575 Acme West in 1989, suggest M D should purchase extra right of way which is required at this time. Would require purchase of land from M Brown ,Lars Sorensen and A Taylor. Also Trans Alta are looking at re- location of the power line along that road Committee recommend purchase the extra land at this time. ITEM NO. 51 Letter from Alberta Transportation with regard to centreline repainting services on secondary roads, and provided names of three companies who have expressed interest in doing this kind of work Government urges municipalities to make use of the private sector. Committee recommend accept and file ITEM NO 52 Letter from the Three Hills Elks Patrol Team who have participated in Dominion and Provicial competition for years anc will be attending one in Winnipeg this year Request M.D. consider assisting them with funds to attend the competition Executive Committee recommend the Elks be advised of existing policy and that their request does not meet policy requirements. ITEM NO 53 The status of the land purchased in 1956 in the NE 3- 29 -23 -4 - 66 feet across the north end of the quarter - to provide access to the NW 3 was reviewed and there was discussion about whether the area should be surveyed as public access on a road plan Executive Committee recommend leave as is. � r( tQ�E 'V .- I^ �4
