Business arising from the Minutes
Art Thomas reported on the following the additional land that was
* purchased adjacent to the west side of Keiver's Lake Park had been
surveyed and that the guard rail fence across the east boundary
had been installed
New Business
a) Tolman
It was noted that Tolman Park would be maintained by the
Provincial Highways Department along with the Park on
on the East side of the river which they presently maintain
b) Swalwell
Fish and Wildlife requested that the pump out toilet facilities
which they had provided to the M D for installation at
Swalwell Dam not be installed as they are developing another
area in the M D for a fish dam and would like to use the
facilities for this new location
I
c) Keiver's Lake
There was considerable discussion on the upgrading project for
the park regarding the development that should be undertaken
this year It was felt that a baseball diamond and bleachers i
shower -wash house and a dump station should be the mayor
priorities and that approximate prices for installation of these
facilities be obtained for further discussion It was also noted
that areas of the park that will be most vulnerable to damage
from use before the grass becomes established may temporarily
need to be fenced off from use Some of the roadway and parking
areas in the park are ready for gravelling and it was suggested
that screenings could be used to underlay the crushed gravel
Prices for a 60 inch front mount mower were reviewed and after a discussion '
of the various units, Otto Hoff moved that we purchase a J D 935 mower from
Guard Implements Trochu for $11,793 and that we also purchase a hitch for i
$10 00 for the above unit
CARRIED
Nick Mamona sent a short note to the M D indicating he would again be
returning to serve as Park Attendant in 1986 and that he will be arriving
at the Park on the 8th or 9th of May
Otto Hoff moved that we accept Nick Mamona as Park Attendant at Keiver's
Lake for 1986 at the same pay rate as last year and that the total wage
for the year should not be less than $5,800 00, and that the Park opens
