HomeMy WebLinkAbout1985-03-04 Council Minutes0 0 COUNCIL COMMITTEE MEETING MARCH 4th 1985 ------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------ A committee meeting of the council of the M D of Kneehill 448 was held in the M.D. Office, Three Hills on Monday, March 4th, 1985, commencing at 9.00 A M Those present were J. Finlay Code, Otto Hoff (Reeve), Robert E Boake, Richard A Maerz, Harold Mueller, Reginald G. Campbell, J. C. Jeffery IlAdministrator Councillor Hastie is still away on holidays. The committee members went to the shop to see a presentation from Vulcan Machinery on their new crawler They also reviewed the grader shop and discussed how best to repair the shop. They ;;returned to the office at 11.15 A.M. Mr Hoff reported that the City of Drumheller is requesting permission to annex a portion of the M D of Starland The area involved includes the new museum. There was lengthy discussion about the grader shop in Three Hills and it was agreed to recommend to council that a new grader shop be constructed in Three Hills, cost about $120,000.00 and the old shed for used for cold storage The new shed would have five bays The meeting then adjourned for dinner and the committee members attended the open house regarding the land use bylaw until 1.45 P M The need for a new shop in Acme was then discussed. It was suggested the building should be big enough to house a water truck and a fire truck, as well as the grader The following specificiations were discussed- Acme - 40 wide x 60 long - $60,000 00 - Doors 1 clear 14 foot x 18 feet wide 1 12 x 12 and 1 3 foot walk in door (steel with no window) - Windows - approixmatley 2' x 4' thermo pane - R -30 insulation on walls and R -40 on ceiling - Doors should be R -30 as well - Erected - Cement 4 foot apron across front of shop - Reinforced concrete for floor - Heat and wiring - 1 washroom plumbed for shower and complete with toilet and sink - Turn key price - Floor drain required - Hot water floor heat - 3 banks of florescent lights with separate switches - Straight Wall building - steel clad - Foundation with piling - inside wall gyproc - Any levelling or fill required will be done by our crew to specificiations 1 r�1 ti a i C7 EW Main Shop 50 x 120 $120,000 00 - Doors - Five 18' wide and 15' high R -30 Insulation complete with four foot concrete pad - Straight Wall metal clad building - R -30 insulation walls and R -40 ceiling - Hot Water floor heat - no floor drain required - 1 Steel 3' insulated walk in door - Florescent lighting between each door and on end walls - - ?Sump - need one or not? - Any fill or levelling required will be done by M D crew to specifications - Foundation with pilings The remaining capital items approved to date are as follows Air Conditioning for Office Energy Technology Smokeeater 7 Electric Door Openers Salt & Sand Storage Base 1 Trailer End Dump 18 to 20 yards 1 Kubota Tractor with loader & cab 1 Ford Tractor 350 Cat Diesel 1 9 Passenger Van 150 Model 1 Radio Tower at Shop 330' 1 Hydrualic Scraper 1 200 H P Crawler (Tender) 1 Air Compressor 1 180 H.P.
