Business Arrising From Minutes
A The sewer dump station for Keivers was turned down by council
because of the cost of pumping as well as similar facilities
can be found in many surrounding towns such as Torrington,
Swalwell, and Three Hills
B The roof of the office at Keivers has been repaired as well
as two windows have been installed to ventilate the building
The office also was painted
C The extension line for the phone was not installed but A G T
is apparently considering the installation of a pay phone at
the park for a seasonal trial bases next summer
D The Park Maintenance Assistance Grant has been received in the
amount of $2 000 00
E The tree stumps and root clumps from Swalwell cemetery have
been leveled to accomodate grass seeding, either this fall
or in the spring
New Business
i
A Keivers Park signs should be installed on highway #27
both east and west at Torrington
B Travel Alberta Park inspection reports were read by
Norman Soder Keivers is the only one of our three parks
that meets their minimum standards and will be shown in their
1985 travel guide book Reports will be filed
C Tables left out for winter use was discussed It was decided
that none be left at Tolman and only one at Swalwell and one
at Keivers
D Councilor Hoff had some requests this year for water down
streams from Swalwell Dam, but due to the low water level it
was decided that we retain as much water as is now in the Dam
Over flows and siphons were discussed for future years and
possibly the P F R A could be asked to repair the existing
gate so that it could be opened P F R A has been contacted
in the past and John Jeffery may have costs of repairs
E The beach at Keivers has been disced
on it This problem of cows walking
fence and into the park will be over
neighbouring farmer builds his fence
other side This is now possible wi
water level in the Lake
to get rid of cow manure
around the end of the
come when the
across the lake to the
th the extremely low
F The fee schedule for the park was discussed and on the
recommendation of Nich Mamona, our Park Attendant, we
propose to leave the rates the same for 1985 as they now stand
Moved by Richard Maerz Carried

Keivers Lake Operation Report
A Nick suggested that the wood for the park be cut into
12'' - 18'' lenqths for easier splitting
B More fire pits will be required for next year Norman
Soder is to check with shop to see if they have time to have
the boys cut up more used culverts, possibly outside to
get away from fumes
C Tables were discussed and we estimated that the M D had
about 75 tables Moved by Richard Maerz that we retain about
this number of tables repairing and replacing as they are
required Carried
Fifty -five tables were out at Keivers, eight at Tolman and
ten at Swalwell, as well as some at the shop that were to
be repaired
D Playground equipment was suggested and the concensus of
opinion was that used tires from either the shop or local
tire dealers should be collected and taken out to Keivers and
partially buried for kids to play on This could be a project
for some service club
E Miniture golf was suggested as an activity for the park
as well as a go -cart track The go -cart track has been
discouraged because of the noise and smell
F Some toilets at the park will have to be moved and new holes
dug All new locations should have culverts set in the holes
so they can be pumped out, this would cut down on the amount
of moves required
G Dead trees have been marked as to which ones should be
removed by the A S B crew
H Park Attendant 1985, Mr Nick Mamona expressed interest
in returning next year He will notify us by March 30

Monies may be available to the M D of Kneehill #48 to construct
garbage containers and sanitary facilities (toilets) at our
Swalwell Dam Moved by Otto Hoff that if fund is available or
if the department wishes to install garbage containers the
preferred place would be 50 feet south of the kitchen at the
Swalwell Dam Also if washroom facilities become available the
location for those would be approximately 100 feet north of
the same kitchen by the trees north of the wood stock pile
