HomeMy WebLinkAbout1984-05-29 Council Minutes��P ot COUNCIL MEETING MAY 29th 1984 P 2 The Administrator gave a brief report regarding the water shortage on the Three Hills and Kneehill Creek last year and after discussion of this matter, Mr Maerz moved that anyone interested in having a dugout or dam in order to preserve water, be referred to Alberta Environment or P F R A CARRIED There was discussion concerning new carpet for the remaining portion of the office, and after review of the bids received, as follows- Traders Furniture $3400 00 - Magi.c Carpet $2587 00 plus installation $975 00 = $3562 00 Carbon Furniture Ltd various bids - high $7918 32 and low $3731 60 Mr Maerz moved that the M D accept the bid of $3400 00 from Traders Furniture CARRIED Mrs Wilkinson entered the meeting at this time and reviewed with Council the dog control by -law drafted for council's consideration Following lengthy discussion of this matter and costs for control, Mr Hastie moved first reading to by -law 1040, this being a by -law to provide for regulating and control of dogs within the M D of Kneehill CARRIED Mr. Maerz moved second reading to this by -law. CARRIED Mr Campbell moved third reading be given to this by -law at this time NOT CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY Mr Frank Weesling then entered the meeting and reviewed with council its proposed land use by -law Various items were discussed in detail with Mr Weesling and it was noted among other things that the by -law has been drafted to provide for only one agriculture district The previous land use by -law provided for two districts - agricultural conservation and agriculture, and in order to apply for an intensive subdivision the land must be redesignated from agricultural conservation to agriculture This gave council an additional control on subdivision applications Following discussion of this matter, Mr Maerz moved that the by -law be re- drafted to provide for retention of the two agriculture districts. CARRIED The meeting then adjourned at 12.10 P M on motion of Mr Campbell CARRIED Reeve Municipal Administrator i PARKS & CEMETERIES MEETING Mav 29. 1984 Minutes of the Municipal District of Kneehill Parks Committe called to order at 1.20 P M Present were Chairman Reg Campbell, Councilor Otto Hoff Councilor ' Richard Maerz, Ag Fieldman Norman Soder, Secretary Herman Martens Minutes of the September 19, 1983 meeting were read and adopted on a motion of Otto Hoff Carried Business arising from minutes- Tank for sewer dump station was discussed Otto will try and get better price from Coaldale manufacturer Moved by Richard Maerz that "we recommend to council the purchase of a 2000 gallon tank, i most funds to come from park maintenance grant already applied for" Carried Note that Bud Haskell would probably be asked to help excavate & bury installation Water level in Keivers is still a concern.
