A meeting of the Parks Committee of the M D. of Kneehill #48 was held at Keivers
Lake Park, April 30,1981 at 8.00 pm with the following present

The Minutes of the December 9,1980 meeting were read After discussion Richard Maerz
moved they be accepted Carried
BUSINESS FROM MINUTES

POWER BOATS
Power boats on Keivers Lake will not be permitted in the 1981 season Two signs have
been made up and will be installed shortly One at the highway and one at the water
front near the boat launch.
VMD BINS
Wood bins are to be constructed by ASB or Public works crew near the attendants trailer
location at the East end of the Park Norman Soder is to see this is done
VaTER WELLS
Water wells are to be checked by Norman Soder, samples must be taken and sent in for
testing
STALL PLAN
Mr Otto Hoff moved that the east end of the beach, south of the camp kitchen, be set
aside for campers only Restricting day -pass vehicles from entering this area Carried
Two signs are to be made stating 'Overnight Campers Only'
BARRICADES
Barricades for change house will be installed by ASB crews in the next week or two
GARBAGE CANS
Garbage cans having metal lids have been purchased for the Parks (56 in all) These
lids may solve some of the problems we have had with smell and insects
TRAILER OR TRUCK
A Trailer or truck for the attnedant to haul garbage with was discussed Norman is to
■� get cost of the trailer for sale in Grantville.
Recommendation to Council by Otto Hoff to let the Park Attendant use one of the older
pick -ups for park garbage collection and if there are no trucks available to consider
purchasing a small utility trailer Carried
NEW- BUSINESS
PARK ATTENDANT
Mr Nicholas Mamona has returned for the 1981 summer season Moved by Richard Maerz
that he be hired May 1,1981 and we offer him 600 00
$ per month plus 500 of the gate
receipts. Carried
PARK LIGHTS
Park lights were discussed at great length and the following improvements were suggested-
(a) Remove pole from centre of playing field
(b) Change light north of Camp kitchen to South end of kitchen overlooking the well
(c) Possibly going underground to keep park in as close to natural condition as possible
(d) Run underground line to new attendant trailer location
(e) All changes must plan for expansion and keep future needs in mind
LANDSCAPING
M� Landscaping the old road allowance was discussed, Richard Maerz will have Division 4
grader come by the Park so Mr Mamona can show him what is required Mr Soder will
see the area is seeded after is has been levelled
PARK RATES
Park rates were discussed Mr Reg Campbell moved that the rates remain the same as
last year except that a boat pass now applies to boat tailers Non- power boats
carried in or on a motor vehicle are covered by the fees charged for that vehicle

SWALWELL DAM
The Swalwell Dam has had some trouble with the out -flow pipe, a new pipe was installed
and convered Screenings have been spread and levelled over the roads
46 TOLMAN PARK
Trees will be replanted when this years trees come The water well will probably
have to be pumped again this year
CORRESPONDENCE
(a) Copies of Titles for Keivers Lake Park were received and the M D of Kneehill #48
has free and clear title to the 14 6 acres known as Keivers Lake Park

(b) A letter was received from Nick Mamona adivsing us he was willing to work at
Keivers Lake Park again this year
Moved by Otto Hoff that the correspondence be accepted and filed Carried
Moved that the meeting do now adjourn by Richard Maerz Carried
