HomeMy WebLinkAbout1979-12-18 Council Minutesas no 0 0 * PARKS COMMITTFF MEETING DECEMBER 18,1979 A meeting of the Parks Committee of the M D of Kneehill #48 was held in the M D office December 18,1979 The meeting was called to order at 9:20 A M present: A W Bauer R G Campbell C W Poole Norman Soder H P Martens, Secretary Louis Matus Park attendant 1979 season by Chairman Cliff W Poole with the following MINUTES: The minutes of the May 28,1979 meeting were read and approved KF.IVERS LAKE PARK 1) The expense report for 1979 was discussed Park costs in 1978 were approximately $9,500 00 and this year are approximately $10 000 00 2) Travel Alberta had Keivers Lake listed as a no charge park Herman Martens is to contact Della Rempel to have that changed .for 1980 3) Public Reserve Funds that the M D has could ,possibly be used for installing power, water and a sewer dumping station 4) Motor Biking inside the park has caused some problems last summer so it is recommended that a sign stating 'No Motor biking in Park' be installed at the gate 5) Louis Matus stated he would be interested in having the caretaking position for 1980 season 6) Fire wood at Keviers was veru short at times A recommendation to council that as much brushing and wood cutting as possible be done this winter by the grader men and public works crew 7) Noted that Mr Schaeffer near Keviers Park has a lot of standing wood if we care to cut and haul it 8) The gates at Keivers park are badly bent, they need straightening and painting Norman Soder is to see the work is done 9) The annual meeting with Mr Frank Hanson will not be called this year unless Mr Hanson requests one 10) The committee thanked Mr Louis Matus for his good work_ this summer as park attendant PDA TOLMAN PARK The pump at Tolman Bridge Park has been giving trouble f-re the last couple of years R G Campbell will check with Lousana Water Wells to see if the well can be repaired, if the pump can be replaced with a different model that would work better or if a new well is reauired CAMP TABLES The table kits that were purchased a few years ago are not standing up All camp tables have been repaired already for next year, some painting is still reauired Approximately 12 to 13 new tables will be reauired for 1980: 10 to Keviers Lake Park, 2 or 3 to Tolman Bridge Park, Swalwell has enough The next meeting will be held in early Spring, April or May, the Parks The meeting adjourned at 11 15a m Secretary to the Committee ,r PARKS TOUR this will be a tour of
