Hudson Bay Oil & Gas Water for oil well 22 Underwood, McLellan Ruarkville Replot 23 Miacellaneous items COUNCIL MEETING OCTOBER 31st, 1977 The meeting of Council which was adjorned on Monday, October 24th, was reconvened at 9 °00 A M , on Monday October 31st, 1977 with all Councillors Present Mr. G G King , Secretary Treasurer was present, and Mrs Jean 'A Wilki son was present and recorded the minutes Mr K41ng advised Council that a Judicial Recount has been reque ted by Mr Otto Hoff, Candidate for councillor for JUDICIAL Divis on 2 and notice of a hearing to set the time and date REC0UNT for such recount served on the Municipal District ELECTION This tatter was briefly discussed and it was noted that Mr DIV 2 King as Secretary Treasurer will be required to be present not received within the at th recount in order to turn over the ballot boxes, etc. d time period. to the Judge Mr Be Mr. Bauer moved to acknowledge receipt of the Notice of Motion Carried' Council then reviewed the budget figures as prepared by BUDGET Mr Jeffery, Assistant Secretary- Treasurer It appears that REVIEW there may be a surplus this year. There was discussion regarding keeping the center dump trailer of Linden Contractors hired for another two weeks, and it was agreed this should be f done and the matter reviewed again at the next Council meeting. It was also agreed that Mr. P quette and Mr Remnel should come to the meeting later today to discuss public works and gravelling problems. The three tanks are alllocated at Zheii offfice in Morrin The Y.D of Kneehill advised that t ey also purchased three tanks on the same basis, one is located at Carbon, one at Three Hills and one At Wimborne 'Mere iMs discussion regarding fire -protection and Starland noted a volunteer fire brid!nage Association has been formed in the :r area and the association purchases all the necessary equipment for all the fire trucks in the M D , and the M D deals only with the Association, rather than with each indivi ual area Trucks are improved on a rotating basis Starla I d nays out about $11,500 00 a year for fire protection MEETING WITH M D STARLAND ..3 Council Meetin- October 31st, 1977 They ave found this system has worked very well so far P 3 It wa noted that the M D of Kneehill does not have total fire rotection for all areas, and levies a special tax for t ose areas which are covered by fire ^rotection. There was brief discussion reg;ardinp the shortane of ,:rave in the M D of Kneehill Ambulance service was then discussed The M D of Starland noted their ambulance service has Just recently been organized and although service ^iven so far has been good, the o?eration of the business end of the service requires some improvement. M D c1tarland has two representatives on the ambulance board. A doctor from Drumheller trains a pari Medic crew to operate the ambulance The n eehill Ambulance Society is run by volunteer help with J�e M D looking after the bookkeenin^ for the society, and c lectjon of accounts The Salitary Land Fill problem was discussed and problems the M of Kneehill is running into were reviewed The M of Starland noted their nuisance -round sites have improved greatly since their utility officer was placed in charge of the sites. It was noted that the N D is not obligated to construct a road at any time.
