Mr. A lBeinert from the Three Hills Capital was present for most of the foren n portion of the meeting APPROV The minutes of the previous meeting were briefly reviewed, and Mr Poole mentioned that there had been no actual cash payment to Mr. James Baerg for the borrow pit,minor cat work having been done for him in exchange for the borrow pit Mr Brown also wished it noted that he attended the A S B. Tour as a representative of the Municipal District because Mr Reginald Campb 11, Council Member to the A S B and Mr Neil Hempel, ratepayer member were not able to attend,and it is for this reason that e is to be paid for the attendance at the tour Mr Bauer moved approval of the minutes, subject to the above noted comment regarding Mr Brown's attendance at the A S B. Tour and a so a correction to a land description on page 6 with regard to the Richard 9kytt land donated for roadway - this should read Secti n 36- 28 -21 -4 (not Range 20 as shown) Mr K 31st, month Mr F Carried FIN ng read the financial statement for the month ending July 1977, which showed a balance on hand at the end of the of $57,421 47, and loans owing of $377,000 00 �rguson moved approval of the financial statement as presented. Carried Mr. King reported to Council regarding the auction sale held on Saturday, August 6th, at which the 4 former nuisance ground sites were sold. Mr Pc le moved that this matter be proceeded with v if consents from the involved land owners Carried z� It was noted that the Swalwell access road has been completed SWALWELL to a very high standard and there is a possibility that ACCESS RD this road may be paved this fall Mr Berdahl moved that the office write Alberta Transportation i/1 thanking them for the road construction done to date and with request that they pave the road ri,ht to the! railw crossing, rather than stopping three miles west of Hi way 21 as now planned Carried Mr Harvey K Toews telephoned the office and suggested H K TOEWS that the M.D test for gravel on land he recently purchased GRAVEL TEST the s uth west of 19- 30 -25 -4 Mr Paquette noted that SW 19-30 - no testing can be done until the harvest is completed , 25 -4 A circular from the AAMD & C regarding lost, stolen or defaced ROAD SIGNS road signs was read to the meeting They have available IDENTIFICATI1 a ste 1 die for stamping road signs to assist in idenficiation if thE sign is stolen, and decals for attachment to the signs ETC warni g, that it is a criminal offence to deface a traffic sign. A secc d circular outlined a metal patch which has been designed to convert existing speed control signs over to kilometers per hour A cordless drill would be required as the patch is put on with screws After discussion, Mr Brown moved that the M D purchase one steel die for use in stamping our road signs, and 500 decals for attachment to the reverse of the sign at the price quoted in the circular from the association Carried J �o HUXLEY FLOWING WELLS v �i k Mr Campbell moved that the M D purchase a cordless drill for use in affixing the metal patch to our road signs MWO and a quantity of sign patches, such quantity to be deter fined by Mr. King and Mr E Duncan the sign man Carried The matter of plugging the flowing wells at the Huxley locat ons- Fawcett and Jensen farms -- was then reviewed by Counc 1 Mr Rees of Alberta Energy & Natural Resources and. a man from Mobil Oil had been in the office recently and i tended plugging the wells that date, but no word has b en received that the wells were in fact plugged off. 8 z� �o HUXLEY FLOWING WELLS v �i k COUNCIL MEETING AUGUST 8th;
