A meeting of the Park Committee was held in the Municipal Office, Three
Hills on July 21st, 1977, commencing at 9.00 A M., with the following
persons present
C W. Poole A. W Dauer; R G Campbell, J C Jeffery
Glenn Smyth
Constable Kees Kikkert of the R C M P was present and a delegation
representing the Allingham Community Pssociation were in attendance.
namely Mrs Jean Hansen; Mr Derek Page, Mr Alvin Keiver, Mrs
Ruth Keiver and Mrs Marg Vetter
The Secretary read a petition with 28 names on it as follows
"In view of the unsupervised situation existing at Keiver °s Lake
public campground, we the undersigned do hereby petition the Council
of the Municipal District of Kneehill to either.,
Supervise this recreational facility in such a way that the people
using it shall not be coerced, hassled or in any way molested, or in
lieu of this
To close the Keiver'* Lake campground entirely, and take the
responsibility of keeping people from trespassing on same

A meeting held at the Allingham Hall on July 6th was held regarding
the Keiver Lake Park with 14 present and the following recommendations
were drawn up at this meeting
1 The Park have one entrance with gate control charge an entrance fee
and have regulation hours
2 That Keiver °s Lake Park have a resident manager with authority of
Park Warden
3 The park to have an appointed recreational committee and budget
4 The park to have telephone and power service
5 More public part:. facilities picnic tables, garbage cans, toilets,
etc
6 Year to year lease
Discussion was then held concerning the petition and recommendations
Mrs. Vetter stated she would like to see the park remain the same
except for more garbage barrels, tables, etc
Constable Kikkert stated that communication was the main problem
and Mr Keiver stated speed of traffic on the beach was the main problem
Constable Kikkert stated he would like to see power boats stopped
from going on the lake before a drowning occurs and some other people
agreed with him
Mr Bauer explained that if we lease out the park to a private
individual there would be no overtime and manpower problems that would
arise if the M D staffed the area with their personnel Mr Page
explained that some people would not sign the petition because of the
last paragraph Mr. Poole stated we would relay all concerns to the
next Council meeting All the delegation then left the meeting and
the Parks Committee toured the Parks and report as follows

1 Mr Campbell reported that the bridge east of Trochu damaged
by a motor vehicle recently is still not repaired. This is to be
reported to Mr Paquette
