A meeting of the Park Committee was held March 18th,
1977, In the Municipal Office, Three Hills, commencing at 1 00
P M , with the following persons present
C W Poole, Reginald Campbell, A W Bauer, Norman Soder, G G King
The minutes of the Park Committee meeting of January
28th, 1977 were read and reviewed and the following noted.
1 Keiver Lake picnic tables not yet repaired or painted
2 Two double toilets have been built by Ray Ehrmann at Wimborne
but are not set up Single toilets had been tipped over
at the park so will require some repairs It may not be
advisable to move one to Tolman because of its condition
3 Private telephone line would cost about $1400 00 Paris
Committee does not recommend this It may be possible
to get a party line phone for only the $8 00 installation
fee, - more details are to be obtained regarding the
time required, etc
4 Power - definite costs for installation not known, but estimate
approximately $3000 00
5 Natural gas - impratical - propane would serve same purpose
and be much cheaper
6. Fence - chain link fence would be much too expensive -
could put a good barb wire fence along front only if a gate
to be installed and an admission charge made, otherwise fence
would be of little benefit
The October 4th, 1961 agreement with Frank Hansen states that the park
area will be available for usual free use of the general public at any
time and that the M D will not commercialize on the property
The Park Committee recommends that, for 1977, the park
be operated as now arranged with two men for parks and cemeteries
It might be okay to get authority for a charge for overnight campers
only, but this would only be practical if there is a responsible
party for collection of the fee - in conjunction with a concession
booth
Johnsto, grt has agreed to work at this job starting
May 1st, 1977 The wage rate plus 6% would be about $5 67 an hour
Mr Soder recommended hiring Otto Kurta as the second man, stating
Otto would be able to use Service Board
Mr times and would
also be able to take over z year
suggested a student's wage would be considerably lower and the same
general work would be accomplished The Service Board would
only be called upon for a few days
Those who work at the cemeteries are to be advised to
contact local groups where these have been generally keeping
records and looking after the local cemetery - for example
Lutheran #1 on Highway #21
It was noted that other recommendations from January
28th meeting had been approved by Council
Mr. Soder mentioned that Council had approved a 2"
water line to our A S B. building in Three Hills It was agreed that
li
the town be contacted for detailed discussion regarding resale of the
water by meter system or otherwise for spray tanks, etc , and also
to arrange for any necessary hook up and permit
The meeting then adjourned --------- - - - - -- -- Secretary
