FOREIHENVS 14EETING - JULY 22, 1976
meeting of the Shop & Foremen4s Committee was held at Three
Hills on Thursday, July 22, 1976 commencing at 9 00 L.I.4. with
the following persons present:

The minutes of the meeting of June 24/76 were reviewed as follows
(a) R 0 P S not on Traxcavator ,-.s yet.
(b) Harvey Jesske hours changed to 9.00 !, !1. -6 00 P TAI
(c) Keith Smith reported that "_,e is still having probleL ss re
the warranty re truck engine - decided to write Caterpillar
directly to try to obtain w.rranty
(d) John Dorn reported the men4s same of the story re undue damage
to winch truck. W. Brown thought possibly we should
purchase a 5th wheel unit and have one ma.n move all the equip -
ment and work with the gravel crew when not moving equipment
14r John Dorn reported that he was short six men last Friday on
the main crew, two of which had no permission and did not notify
him they were not going to show up. It was decided to take this
into consideration when reviewing the new wages this month
The wages were then reviewed as folows, effective July 1/76.

Some discussion was held concerning reducing the age limit from
18 years to 16 for hiring Jack Edworthy was phoned and he
reported as follows. -
The Insurance company will insure but are bad risks for the
following reasons. - (rates will likely go up of we do change age
limits.I4r. Edworthy strongly recommends against changing the
policy.)

Bob Cranston asked if the shop could purchase a valve gri y,;er for
the shop for approximately $2,000 00 with all attarAments The
committee reco"mends to Council that a, valve grinder be purchased
Brief discussion was held concerning old water pumps and it was
decided that T.C. Paquette and Bob Cranston could set a price and
sell
Discussion was held concerffisng fence posts and the come <iittee decided
the fence crew should be rutting in better corner posts.

Nr. Dobler reported that, due to only having two oil storage tanks,
it would be more efficient to have the saving crew work a small
araount of overtime on certain days to empty the tanks so they could
be refilled at night because of daytime trucking problems
The Co.:u:iittee recommends to Council that the pavinE crew be allowed
to work small amounts of overtime to implement this change
