SANITARY LAND FILL COMMITTEE
MEETING - JUNE 29th 1976

A meeting of the Sanitary Land Fill Committee was held
June 29th,1976 at the Municipal District Office, Three Hills,
Alberta
Those present for the meeting were
fir Charles Lau and Mr Rick Leyland , Public Health
Inspectors Drumheller Health Unit
Mr Ralph Brown and Mr G King - M D Kneehill ##48
Mr. E Knievel, Town of Trochu
Mrs Pauline Jasman - Town of Three Hills
Mr. W Permann, Village of Carbon
Mr H Ehrmann, Village of Torrington
The minutes of the May 25th,1976 meeting were reviewed together
with the circular of June 3rd, which had been sent to all
municipalities
Mr E Knievel for Trochu stated that their regular members had
not been able to attend this meeting, so he was a substitute He
did not have full information, but he felt that the cost figures
as per the circular of June 3rd, were in the "ball park"
Mr Permann of Carbon expressed agreement and suggested that
Carbon may add any garbage collection costs to the monthly
water and sewer accounts
Mrs Jasman of Three Hills stated the town agrees to the proposal
and the division of operational costs
It was agreed that a firm written contract must be obtained from
any company which is hired to do the collection of garbage
It was noted that there is some possibility of Provincial Government
assistance for buying the land that may be needed in the future, even
if that land is now owned by Three Hills adjacent to its sewage
lagoon
Mr. Knievel stated that the Trochu Council will discuss the proposal
at its meeting on July 5th,1976, and will make a fairly definite
decision at that meeting
Mr Permann moved that, if Trochu agrees to participate, another
meeting be held soon, and that representatives of both Disposal
and Prairie Waste be invited to attend Tentative date and time for
the meeting was agreed as Wednesday, July 14th.,1976 at 8 00 P M

Mr Permann moved that a decision regarding hiring of either
contractor be tabled until the next meeting

FOR INFORMATION Following the meeting the urban representatives presen
discussed the choosing of a member to represent the towns and villages
of this area on a committee of C R P C to draft a preliminary regional
plan for the eastern part of its area The person chosen was Mr Ken
Wright, Three Hills Any correspondence regarding this matter should go
