Municipal District of Kneehill #48 - MACHINERY MEETING
February 10th 1976 P 2
The salesmen left the meeting and Council discussed the bids
Mr E Gieck and Mr Rod Turnbull entered the meeting, and Mr. Gieck stated
that Ferguson Supply felt in some ways responsible for our loader, and
they would supply up to $2000 00 for alterations to try and bring
the loader up to workable shape
He also stated that if we purchasd the Champion 740 grader he would V
provide us with a warranty as follows
1 year full warranty
They would pay 90% availability if the machine is down any more than 100 of
the time they will pay us the down hours They would also guarantee to
buy back the machine at the end of the year if we were not satisfied at
a charge to us of $10 00 per operating hour
They then left the meeting
Mr R W Brown moved that we purchase one Champion D 686 Motor Grader from Ferguson Supply
for $73.407 00 less a trade of a D 600 Champion for $17,176 00 -
Net price of $56,231 00

Mr C W Poole moved that we purchase the Ford A 66 Wheel Loader from
Hauser Tractor for a gross price of $689800 00 less trade of a 7241
Terex at $35 000 00 - net price of $33.,800 00
Carried
Mr Bauer moved that we purchase a Flatherty Spreader for a price
of $38 „708 00 less trade of $7227 00 - net price of $31,481 00
from Vulcan Machinery Ltd Carried
It was decided by Council not to purchase any small tractor at this time
Mr. G King, Secretary- Treasurer met with Council and was present for the
balance of the meeting
Council was advised that Bertram Drilling Carbon has about 10 days more
work repairing a seismic drill and then may be able to test for gravel
for this M D as requested, at Hesketh and north east of Trochu Mr
Poole will keep in touch with him

Acme
A recent letter received advised that the Village of Acme has made application Annexation
to annex a small strip of land to provide for a roadway and one row of houses
in addition to the last annexation Mr. Brown moved that a reply be
sent stating that this Council has no objection to this additional annexation
but that reference also be made to the possibility of having the land owned
by S Neilsen also annexed to Acme for the location of his business

The Secretary- Treasurer was asked to get further information in regard to
the following matters HUXLEY
1 From Underwood, McLellan and Associates regarding the required by -law SEWER
and procedures for the Huxley Sewer System SYSTEM
2. From Water Resources Branch - Ron Hilton's Office - regarding the outlet ETC
for the Swalwell Dam/
Mr Brown Mr Bauer and Mr Campbell reported that they had met the Council NUISANCE
of the Town of Three Hills last evening with regard to the nuisance GROUNDS
grounds As the outcome of that meeting, they recommend that another combined ANOTHER
meeting of all the municipalities of this area be held at our office on March MEETING
15th 1976, commencing at 7,30 P M A representative of Prairie Waste Management
wiIJ have a cost proposal to present at that time Acme will have costs
regarding the use of the site nearer Acme, or the site near Three Hills Mr
Poole moved that this report be approved and that all towns and villages be
invited to send representatives to the meeting.

It was also noted that Mr Charles Lau of the Drumheller Health
Unit will be invited to that same meeting
Mr G King advised Council that no tax sale is required
before the end of March
Mr G King and Mr T A Ferguson gave a report from the
Kneehill Ambulance Society He stated that good progress
is being made on the new building
They also advised that the requisition rate for 1976 v
will be based on one mill on the equalized assessment
Consideration is being given to the purchase of a new
ambulance
Mr Campbell moved that the report be accepted, and the
requisition approved

It was noted that the next meeting of the Shop and
Foremen's Committee will be at our office on February 19th,
1976 at 9 00 A M
Mr Campbell referred to an outline from Norman Soder, Ag
Fieldman:, regarding the work of the Agricultural Service
Board Each Councillor was given a copy and asked to look
this over and be prepared to discuss it at the next combined
meeting, of Council and Service Board, which will be March
22nd

It was agreed that Mr R. Campbell see Norman Soder and discuss ,I USE OF TRACTOR &
with him the use of a tractor and loader by the Public Works Department LOADER BY TWO
as well as the Ag Service Board DEPARTMENTS
A 'list of those available to go to Drumheller this coming Friday COUNCILLORS"
for the Councillors' curling was as follows CURLING DRUM
Leonard Litz; Art Bauer, Reg. Campbell, Tom Ferguson perhaps
Gilbert Berdahl, Gordon King, John Jeffery Ted Paquette and
Keith Smith
Mr± Litz moved that this meeting do now adjourn ADJOURNMENT
