The regular meeting of the Council of the Municipal District of
Kneehill #48 was held in the Municipal Office, Three Hills, on
Monday, September 23rd, 1974, commencing at 9 00 A N
The Councillors present for this meeting were PRESENT

Mr C W Poole moved the approval of the minutes of the Council
meeting cf September 9th,1974 as circulated

The Secretary reviewed the financial statement for the FIN
month en ing August 31st, 1974, which showed a balance STATEMENT
July 31st of $57,590 42, recelis for the month of
$89,732.C8, loans received of ,000 00, and disbursements
for the onth of $185,833 42, interest charged of
427 04, leaving a net balance as of August 31st of
11,062 C4 Mr Church moved approval of the financial
statement

Regional Committee of the CFM & M urge the Federal
Governme t to take positive steps to stem the
inflatio ary trend of our economy.
2 Now Therefore be it resolved that the Prairie
Regional Committee of the CFM & M urge the Federal
Government to take the necessary steps to order the
immediate resumption of grain movement in Canada and
to order the affected parties back to the bargaining
table to negotiate an equitable agreement

Sherring met with Counci.7 at 1 00 Mr Redgewell SENIOR CITIZENS
was spokesman for the group and reported that as PROJECT
there is no recreation facilities provided for
Senior Citizens in Three Hills, the Kneehill Senior
Citizens Society is tryirg to raise sufficient funds
to have 6 building const7.uc:ted. They will receive a grant of
$10,000.(0 from the R C D P Centennial, providing
museum f cilities are prcv-,Lded in the building, $20,000 00
from the Department of Ycuth and Recreation, and $9,000 00
from New Horizons for furnishings He stated that
there arE no builaings to renovate available in
j_'hree Hills. If a new building is built, the Town ,Q
of Three Hills will own ':,he facilities, donate the
land involved, free water and no taxes will be levied
To be a member of the Sociea,y you must be 65 years
of age, end associate members are accepted at age

COUNCIL MEETING - SEPTEMBER
23rd, 1974
Mr Brown advised Council about the Three Hills Hospital
Planning Committee, which is a supplementary committee
to the Three Hills Hospital Board This is a new
committee Mrs. R Dau, Miss Lamoert, the local doctors
and he are to attend the next planning meeting, to
discuss the needs of the Three Hills area The Trochu
hospital has announced that they will have 24 long
treatment beds, 6 active treatment beds and 3 day care
beds It therefore appears that more active care beds
will be r quired in our area The Government will be
looking at, Three Hil?.s next and the Planning Committee
will try end suggest what will be required Other
items such as the location of a new Health Unit office
and the question of doctors' offices will be discussed
Also if the present hospital is to be turned into a
nursing h me, there is the possibility of having to build a
complete new active facility.
Mr Brown stated that a further report would be given
to Council after the meeting on October 2,14*
