Go C Abell Div 7 Mr. G G Kg, Secretary -Treasurer was present and recorded th minutes Mr DonaldDau of the Three Hills School Division was present dur' g the forenoon Mr Poole m ved approval of the minutes of the Council meeting of ugust 12th, 1974, as circulated Carried Mr. Norman oder, Agricultural Fieldman met with Council as did alsoMr John Jeffery, as secretary to the Agricultura Service Board, and as Assistant Secretary- "'reasurer The minutes.of the Agricultural Service Board meeting of August 11th, 1974 were read Mr Poole moved approval of those mi utes Carried The following business was dealt with in connection with the Agricultural Service Board and the minutes of the meeting of August 19th. le Letter of August 16th from the Environment Conservation Authority was read This C.tated that groups would have time to present briefs regarding pesticides, etc , early in the new year 2 The brief as drafted by Mr Norman Soder regarding use of pesticides, etc., was referred to briefly and it was agreed that this be referred to the next combined meeting on September 23rd 3 Proposed revisions to -,he by-law concerning stubble burning were discussed briefly and these were also tabled until September 23rd 4. Some di cussion took place with regard to weedy farms in the area with particular reference to that of Merle Anderson, n rth east of Carbon Mr Sc*elke moved that Mr Glenn Smyth be named as a soil conservation officer, pest control officer and weed inspe4or Carried Mr Norman Soder and Mr John Jeffery then left the meeting 0....2 PRESENT APPROV MINUTES A S. Mr. Bauer m ved that a letter be written to the Provincial f Government sking for financial assistance in regard to markers, pl ques and survey costs at cemeteries Carried Quotations received thus far for grave markers, with names etc imprinted were quite high Further prices are to be e received through Claude Barkman and Delbert or Roy Davidson Mr. Fergusonmoved that the two ladies be authorized to spend an extra three weeks working on the cemetery records and that we endeavour to get extra grants to cover the costs, Carried The ladies ere thanked for their report and they then V " left the meeting Letter from Doctor A Warrack, M L.A , advised that the HUXLEY Department of the Environment is considering our request SEWER for a grant for a sewer system at Huxley, but the Honourable SYSTEM Mr Yurko is away until about the middle of September Mr Schmel e moved that this information be accepted and filed Carried Letter of August 21st, 1974 from Doctor A. Mr. Ted Paq�Zette, Public Works Superintendent, and Mr Joe Dobler,IlGravel Foreman, met with Council Mr G King advised Council that he has had success in getting the required transfers in regard to Portion of South West 18 29 22 49 so that the title to the access right of way will be consolidated in title with the land of Mr. Jack Harris. SW 18 29 22 Mr T A Ferguson advised that he does not have reports McLEAN regarding the McLean cattle pass or the Malaka road to CATTLE PASS date becau e of weather and other reasons This was ETC therefore tabled Mr Paquet e advised that he had inspected the road from E. ALBRECHT Dan Willians south, and stated that no dirt could have DIRT REM been taken from the land of Elmer Albrecht this year as that side of the road is fenced Mr Ferguson moved that this ileport be accepted Carried A detailed report of the existing gravel stock piles was read to Council and Mr. Joe Dobler gave his opinion in regard to smaller amounts at some of the stock piles, particularly Hesketh and Torrington Considerable discussion followed regarcing the need for more gravel at some to ations to permit good winter stock piling. It was estimated that without further crushing the following amounts might bP available for winter stock piling. Car ied 2 Mr Sciunelke moved that the Shop Committee be authorized to go aheal and get furnaces for the new shop. Carried 3 Mr. Ch rch moved that Mr Paquette have authority to have a new cement floor put in the old Butler storage building.
