Mr Poole moved approval of the minutes of the Council COUNCIL MIN.APPROVED meetings of March 25 and 27 as per copies circulated Carried. The minutes of the Annual meeting of Electors held ANNUAL MEET. MIN. March 25 had been circulated and these were discussed briefly, The suggestion that no charge be made for snowplowing driveways for senior citizens was given considerationItems mentioned in the discussion included: SNOWPLOW, 1 most senior citizens can afford to pay O SEN CIT. T 2 many of he senior citizens live in the same yard as TO S. DISCUSSED the son or other relative ? it would be difficult to determine exactly who are the senior c tizens throughout the whole municipality Mr Dauer m0ed that Council continue to charge for all snowplowing Of private driveways Carried. The Financial Statement for the month ending March 31, 1974 was presents and discussed as per copy with the minutes. FIN.STATE. It showed a net balance at the end of March of $370,2$5 92 Mr Schmelke moved that this be adopted Carried. A report of the Tax Sale held March 2$ had been circulated. TAX SALE Mr G King ave some additional information about who had attended and other items Mr Poole moved that the report of th Tax Sale be accepted,. Carried Letter from Alberta Environment was rad in regard to ALTA.ENVIRONMENT Anti -Litter eek, May 6 - 12 Mr Ferguson moved that ANTI -LITTER individuals be encouraged to take part in a general clean-up WEEK of premises, that the Municipal District as such take no action and that the correspondence be filed Carried Three Hills Pchool Division minutes of March 27 and SHILLS SCHOOL DIV. circular reg rding supplemental requisition were read MINUTES and discusseo briefly. ENTER R.CAMPBELL Mr Ferguson moved that John Jeffery or G G King attend PENSION WORKSHOP the Pension Workshop in Edmonton on a date most suitable from the lis sent from the Public Service Pension Administra- tion Carried Mr Brown mo ed that Council approve the three phase power CALG POWER line as per Olan submitted by Calgary Power Limited to SEC 35-29-26-4 serve Double!R Farms in Section 35-29-26-4 Carried Official letters from the Local Authorities Board advised of hearings to be held at Linden on April 269 1974 regarding annexation The first is to be at 11°00 A M and the LOC.AUTH.BD. second at 1-00 P M Discussion followed. King represent the Municipal ANNEXATION District and that they be authorized to state that the Municipal Di trict has no _,,bjection to additional annexation ` to Linden onicondition that the land be assessed as Agricultural as is corresponding land in the Municipal District until such time as sub -division takes place. Duncan, George Rempel, Henry v Tippe o Moti n carry.('_ Mr John Jeffery gave Council information in regard to the total ov r -time build-up of employees as follows. 1 Mr John Dorn - 135 hours OVER -TIME RE 2 Mr Joe Dobler - 52 hours DORN, DOBLER &; 3. Mr Ted aquette - 4 hours PAQUETTE Council was dvised that the information as submitted is taken direct y from the payroll sheets as submitted by the employees Mr G King advised that Mr Paquette may dispute these records as he has stated that the time shown on his payroll is not entirely accurate, but the office has no other records to go by Considerable discussion followed about compensation that should be allowed in lieu of time off because of the additional work due to the heavy snowplowing arrangements and also due to the gravel crew working a aouble shift The rate of pay for John Dorn and Joe Dobler based on 12 times regular ratc was calculated at $8 15 per hour Mr Church moved Mr J hn Dorn and Mr Joe Dobler be paid in full for the over -time as given above at $8 15 per hour gross due to the Epecial circumstances this winter and that this 4 ORM 1 149- SPECIA! Carried. k APPROVED Mr Poole advised Seiler had ben that the proposed sub -division in MI -22-29-26-4 tabled by the -division SUB -DIV considered and sub Committee pe ding further investigation �'NW-22-29_ 26-4— SEILER Mr Hugo Rob nske met with Council and discussed a proposed addition to the dwelling on Lot 14, Block 2, Wimborne He H.ROBANSKE proposed to buy a building approximately 22 feet by 18 feet L 1498.29 and add this to the existing dwelling The problem was WIMBORNE to determine the exact boundaries of Lot 14 and to make certain that the addition would be within the boundaries of that prop rty He was advised by Council that they 4, required a minimum of 5 feet for a side yard and it therefore appeared unlikely that the addition would be approved No definite decision could be made without exact measurements Mr Robcnske thanked Council for the information and the opportunity to be heard and he ® then left the meeting Mr Bauer mo ed that Council approve of the Building BUILDING ^� Permits as i sued for the following PERMITS APP 1, Ed Kubin c for machine shed in S14-4-32-22-4 2 J A. Council adjourned for dinner from 12 00 noon to 1000 P.M. DINNER Mr John Jeffery presented the Accounts for consideration as per list with the minutes Mr Ted Paquette and Mr. ENTER PAQUETTE Joe Dobler, Foremen, came into the meeting during the & DOBLER discussion of the Accounts Mr Schmelk moved the Council approve of the payment of�rACCOUNTS APPROVED the Account as per list submitted Carried Mr Roy Par ons and Ken McLean of Southside Plymouth at SOUTHSIDE Red Deer met with Council in regard to an account for PLYMOUTH — $1,7$6 90 ir respect to repairs to the front differential ENTER R PARSONS on the new Iodge gravel truck The mileage at the time & K.MCLEAN of the repar was 1,15£3 miles Council stated this should be under fulollowed 1 warranty and the trouble was caused by DODGE GRAVEL poor servicng The Company representatives felt that TRUCK Council shold pay at least a portion of the account as the Companyhas denied the warranty claim. Considerable discussion and the representatives then left the meeting briefly while Council discussed the matter privately The representatives were invited back in and were told that Council had agreed to take this matter up with Chrysler Corporation They were also asked about the s les tax and said they had no definite informa— tion to dat. Mr Poole moved that Council act in accordance with the di cussion above Carried The two men then left the me ting Mr Bauer d Mr Paquette reported they had not yet seen Miss M y MacFarlene in regard to the damages at her MACFARLENE house but t ey would endeavor to give a report soon DAMAGE Mr. Poole mved that Council file the information from MERLIN TRANS Merlin Tranport regarding oil for roads Carried " RE.ROAD OIL Mr Church oved that the Municipal District pay the Account of Alberta Government Telephones in regard to A G T —ACCOUNT cable damage in the Churchill area, the amount being RE DAMAGE AT the insurane deductable plus some insurance money received Lr CHURCHILL by the Muni ipal District. Mr Poole r ported that he had met with Mr Gerry Mazurek of the Provincial Bridge Branch at Carbon on April 2 Representat ves of the Village and others had also been present The information is that the Bridge Branch is getting fin 1 approval for the designs, etc and that two bridges at arbon will be constructed at the same time during the ummer, Other discussion followed in regard to the requircc work and arrangements with the Village.
