Mr Schmelke moved that this statement be approved and presented to the Public Meeting to be held at Wimborne later Carried TRr Doug Hazelton of Linden Contractors met with Council. He stated tht his new equipment is in Calgary and should be moved to he Torrington Pit by Wednesday and he should be ready to tart crushing about the first week in April, In reply to question he stated that the conveyor belt system is no available He also stated he would have some private Iwork to do when in the Muni.cipul Pit near Torrington He thanked. Council and then left the meeting Mr Ted Paquette, Public Works Superintendent, and John Dorn; then met with Council Mr Paquette stated that no employees attended the Union Tractor School in Edmonton due to weather, but two or three hope to attend the R,Angus School in Ca gary tomorrow, March 26 Mr. Church moved that this be approved Carried, ENTER D.HAZELTON TORRINGTON PIT ENTER PAQUETTE & DORN R.ANGUS SCHOOL The circular from the A.A.M.D & C dealt with possible Municipal responsibility if cars which have been left A.A.M D & C. stuck in snowbanks are moved by Municipal employees LETTER Responsibility for damage may lie with the Municipality. Carried Mr Poole reported that Mr Dome Fyten had tried to open DRAIN-SWALWELL the drain at the Swalwell dam but had been unable to get DAM it open It appeared advisable to lower the level of water in the dam at this time so as to be ready for the Spring run-off and to protect the over -flow It was left for John Dorn or Ted Paquette to investigate Mr. Poole mentioned that his motor grader man had planned to open certain corners along f9 highway to improve CLEAN CORNERS - vision and move back the snow After discussion he HIGHWAY #9 agreed that John Dorn contact the operator and endeavor to have him leave it until day -light and that they would try to have flag men there when the work is being done Mr Brown asked about the possibility of having additional mirrors put on the motor graders so that the operators MIRRORS-MOTCA would be able to see close in behind the machine Ted GRADERS and John are to investigate Mr Brown moved that the District Engineer be asked to ACME NORTH RD check grade levels, etc and to make a recommendation regarding paving on the Acme north road near the Acme Lagoon and at the Goosen Coulee Carried. Mr Poole moved that the unused road diversions in NE --19 NE -19 & NW -20 - and NW -20-29-24-4 - Kostrosky, be cancelled and the land. 29-24-4 - returned to the original c;uarters Carried KOSTROSKY Mr Church moved the Council approve of the contract with Imperial Oil for fuel for 1974 as per details submitted IMPERIAL OIL making the present price for diesel 25¢ per gallon and for CONTRACT Esso gasoline 28 5¢ per gallon. Motion carried Letter from the District Engineer stated they would not DISTRICT ENG. be able to supply as much survey and profile information SURVEY & PROF. as previously and suggested that Council consider hiring INFO. a private Engineering firm It was agreed this be filed as information. A copy of a report of Crosland Peacock as insurance adjustors CROSLAND for Jubilee stated that they denied all responsibility in PEACOCK regard to the collission between a Kline car and the motor grader in Division 6 Mr Bauer moved that this be filed as information Carried Mr Paquette advised that the $,000 Ford gravel truck may $9000 FORD need a different motor this year and he stated that an exchange GRAVEL cat motor can be purchased for $2$00 00.
