RATES Letter of December 11 from Alberta Government • Telepho es advised that the price of its line moves is being increased from $250 00 per mile to $500 00 per mile as of January 1, 1974. This charge will only be about 25% of the actual ost Mr Schmelke moved that this be filed a information Carried Maps and information from Alherta Government Telephones were discussed in regard to buried !cable on the Airdrie -Acme -Three Hills area Mr Poole moved that this be approved but with the request that no cable be closer than 50, from the property lines, except where necessary for road crossings, etc Cart ied The proofs of the pictures taken by Langshaw Studiosl were shown to Council and others present; and orders for same were listed Mr A 1 Bauer arrived at the meeting at this S time (11 00 A.M ) Mr Jin Berlando of Drumheller met with Council and di cussed the communication system for the Munici al District Council was advised that it seems unlikely that suitable equipment can be obtained at special rates from Alberta Government Telephones but the matter is still going in circles and no definite answer has been r ceived Mir Alex Cunningham was also invite into the meeting for the discussion and he added considerable information Mr BerlanIto submitted a cost estimate of alternate equipm nt and it was noted that the total price outlay will be much the same as that previously approv d by Council Each of the Councillors were given copies of that information. Carried Letter bf December 10, 1973 from the Department of Hlghlways and Transport was read in regard to theroposed overhead crossing over -he CPR south of Linden. The Secretary -treasurer is to contact Mr. Gordon Park and ask that he take some action in regard to this and that Mr. Jim Briet te be also advised as to what is being done Mr. Paquette reported they are short 1 tire for the Wagner and it might be possible to get a used one for $250 00 but it is not satisfactory to have mismatched tires on that machine After discussion Mr Schmelke moved that Council approve of 4 new ;general Tires for the said Wagner chi ne . If a man retires, anoth r shall be chosen by the group concerned to complete the expired term. Alternate may participate if regular membe is unable to attend. Group Life - Wage Continuance Policy - after 9 months of employ- ment A Policy is in effect with Manulife & Dominion Life The cost of this shall be shared 50-50 by the employer and employee. The timp during which any employee receives wages by this policy hall not reduce the number of days for which he is entitled to sick pay benefits under Clause 6 of this Agreemtnt. However, if the wages under the Policy do not provide the full re lar rate of pay for 9 hour days, the difference may be paid from sick pay benefits and this additional benefit will be calculated as a fraction of a day under Clause 6. Ant employee shall be expected to do any reasonable work to the best of his ability with his rate of pay to stay in his present category unless he be actually put in a new category by thel Classification Committee.
