of Hlghlways and Transport was read in regard
to theroposed overhead crossing over -he
CPR south of Linden. This outlined the OVERHEAD CROSS -
respons'bility for the expenses In brief, CPR SOUTH OF LINDEN

cubic yards of pit run grave] from our Municipal
pit south-west of Torrington and this is being
used at the bridge .location on Highway 27 near

regular rate
It was noted that the oil spilled last fall
by a truck north of 31-31-25-4 has not been
cleaned up. The Secretary -treasurer is to
contact Mr. Gordon Park and ask that he take
some action in regard to this and that Mr. Jim
Briet te be also advised as to what is being
done
Mr. Paquette reported they are short 1 tire
for the Wagner and it might be possible to get
a used one for $250 00 but it is not satisfactory
to have mismatched tires on that machine After
discussion Mr Schmelke moved that Council
approve of 4 new ;general Tires for the said

There will be no hold -back, payment will be made in full
by th 5th of the succeeding month according to the paysheet
with alny required adjustment to be made at the end of the
following month.
Minimum W
An employee who is available for work shall be paid a
guara teed minimum salary of $400 00 per month but this shall
only te in effect where no other benefits apply
Em loyees will receive compensation for 2 hours if they
show up at the shop and are not required to work and 3 hours
if th y show up at the ,lob and are not required to work
All employees must show up for work unless there is a good
reasor for not doing so and in which case, the foreman must
be advised before working hours commence
Shop Service Personnel
Th se employees will work 9 hours per day, 45 hours per
week They may be required to work Saturdays and have Monday

5 - Annual Holidays
Eah employee, at the end of each of the first 8 years of
emplo ent, shall be entitled to annual holidays with pay
in ac ordance with the following
a) Two weeks if taken between April 1st and November 30th.
b) Three Weeks if taken during Dec , Jan ,Feb , or March
c) One week between April 1st and November 30th, plus a
further 12 weeks in the other four months.
When considering whether or not an employee has completed
eight years of employment or more, the first year of employ-
ment shall be taken as from the first of that year or the
end of that year whichever is the closer.e.g.
Iflstarted May lst/72, year would be taken from Jan 1/72
If started July lst/72, year would be taken from Jan 1/73
Afer eight full years of employment and up to and
inclu ing the end of the 15th year of employment, the annual

Clause16 - Provision for Sick Pay
A Em loyees are to be given credit at January 1, 1974 for
the n ber of days for sick pay which remain at their credit
at the end of 1973
B. Crdit from January lst, 1974 will be I day per month

if an employee is off for one or two consecutive days
D J any employee is off for three days or more, then a
medical certificate is r-ompulsory.

F E ployees time records may include minor time reporting
at th office or to a doctor if less than one-half day.

1) If any employee retires and goes on pension, he shall
be given full pay for all accumulated sick pay days
standing to his credit
2) Employees who leave after a minimum of four years
employment for any reason other than retirement on
pension, shall be paid for one-half of the number of
accumulated sick pay days standing to his credit
3) All present credits for sick pay and years of service
shall be counted in reference to F(1) and (2) and
the rate shall be at the average rate of pay of the
employee at the time he leaves or retires as the case
may be

AGREEMENT
Clause Compulsory Statutory Holidays
New Year's Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day, July lst,
first Monday of August, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day,
November 11th, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day.
Pa ment shall be calculated on 9 hours per day at the
regular rates.

a) Eaci employee shall be paid regular wages for 9 hour days
for a p riod not to exceed two weeks if he suffers an injury
while a work under which he qualifies for Workmen's Compensa-
tion be efits Any payment from the Workmen's Compensation
Board ii respect to the wages during that period will be
claimed by the Municipal District
b) After the first two weeks, the employee will be entitled
to payment direct from the Workmen's Compensation Board of
that portion of his wages which it will pay, but will not
receive further wage payment from the Municipal District
until hle returns to work
c) Thelpaysheets shall show 9 hours a day for each day during
the first 2 weeks that any employee is entitled to Workmen's
Compen tion.
Clause -
Total contributions to the Canada Pension Plan and an
integrated additional pension will be approximately 51 by
the em oyee and at least an equal amount by the Municipal
District.The Canada Pension Plan is compulsory The
integrated additional pension will be compulsory for any new
employee hired, effective after 9 months employment; but it
remain optional for employees hired previous to December 31,
1965 Details are available upon request

Em loyees may request leave of absence without pay and
Council may grant same without pay and without loss of
benefit .
Clause 13 - General Terms
No work shall be required on any Saturday, Sunday or legal
holiday except for emergency or snowplowing.
Anemployee shall have the right to submit a written
request at any time asking a transfer to other employment.
This sh 11 be given fair consideration when an opening occurs
The Public Works Superintendent may grant a temporary transfer
but must, within two weeks, report this to the Council Commi-
ttee or Council for final approval.
Group Life - Wage Continuance Policy - after 9 months of employ-
ment
A Policy is in effect with Manulife & Dominion Life The
cost of this shall be shared 50-50 by the employer and employee.
The timp during which any employee receives wages by this
policy hall not reduce the number of days for which he is
entitled to sick pay benefits under Clause 6 of this Agreemtnt.
However, if the wages under the Policy do not provide the
full re lar rate of pay for 9 hour days, the difference may
be paid from sick pay benefits and this additional benefit
will be calculated as a fraction of a day under Clause 6.
Ant employee shall be expected to do any reasonable work
to the best of his ability with his rate of pay to stay in his
present category unless he be actually put in a new category
by thel Classification Committee.
Meetings of the employer-employee committee shall be
held upon request of either party, with dates and times to
be mutually agreed upon
Any employee covered by this Agreement and wishing to
leave the employ of the Municipal District is asked to give
not lesthan one week's notice The Municipal District shall
give no less than one week's notiEe to any employee who is

Works S perintendent and/or by Council, but only where, in
