Carried Mr Pete Jalder was advised of this decision Mr Poole moved that Council agree to supply the Department of Highways with up to 15,000 cu yds of gravel for the Trochu East road on condition that the stockpiling is done and that the price in the stockpile be $ 80 p r cu yd Carried Mr Alton agreed that the Department would negotiate for a plant site for hot mix work, etc if the gravel is available Mr Alton also agreed that he could arrange to have t e stockpile site measured to determine the quantity Mr Alton suggested that the 1975 trJecondary Road Grant Project for this area might be placing a hot mix on the Torrington north and south road so as to protect the existing pavement No definite decision was made 5 R .E .N .DITCHING BID ACCEPTED DEFT .OF HWYS . C H H FORM 149-0 SPECIAL U COUNCIL MEETING OCTOBER 9, 1973 Page 6 Mr G Ki g advised Council that the Provincial Bridge Br nch will soon be sending some informati n in regard to the two bridges over the Kneeh ll Creek at Carbon, one being in the village and the other just south-east of the village By phone discussion the Bridge Branch suggested that the south-east bridge is the more dangerous having regard to all factors Mr C.W. I oole and G King gave a brief verbal re ort of the Executive meeting of the Ce tral Association held here last Thursday It was noted that the Central Association Leneral meeting will be held at Didsbuiy on Thursday, October 25, commencing at 10 00 A.M. All Councillors stated they would be able to attend Councillor C.W.Poole left the meeting at this time being approximately 3.00 P.M. so that he could continue with his harvest work Mr Brown moved first reading to by-law IMO, this being a by-law to cancel the portion of road on the east side of the SE -5-31-25-4 which is cut off by the new road dive Sion at that correctinn line and to trkisfer the closed portion of the said road to Gladwyn Toews. Carried Mr Churcli moved second reading to this by-law Carried The above by-law will be advertised and any objecions will be heard by Council on November 6 BRIDGE BRANCH - CARBON BRIDGESOVER KNEEHILL CR KING & POOLE REPORT EXEC MEET OF C A EXIT C .W .POOLE BY -LAID 740 The Winter Works Program under the Alberta Department of the Environment was reviewed and it was noted that the cost to the M.D. would be 0/ of construction plus full responsibility when the project would be complete plus other items, Mr Ferguson moved that a reply be sent stating that this Municipal District would not be making any application. Carried. DEPT.MANPOWER & LABOR - The road Committee reported that they had inspected the dead haul road from the Klassen Pit to Hi hway '21 together with the Government Engineer And a representative of the Contractor The road was found to be in good condition Mr Brown moved that this report be accepted. He stated he expected to start work in Di,-ision 5 next week, and Mr Ferguson stated that he had a list from bus drivers which showed gravel needed on a total of 60 miles.
