Mr Can ipbell moved approval of the minutes of the APPROVAL OF meeting of May 28 and 30 and of the combined MINUTES meeting -With the Agricultural Service Board on May 2$ subject to the following corrections - 1. May 2$ P.2 Items numbers 2 and 6 under the he ding Parks should indicate that the barbecues were put at the parks last year and following that the reference to the minutc,s Council meeting June 26, 1973 should read 1972. 2. Frank -for change of road access Mr Church moved that this be accepted as informa- tion and filed until further details are sent Carried. Discussion took place regarding the advisability ROAD NE -35-32-22-4 of opening a road in NE -35-32-22-4-L Sich- and the elimination of the need for the road on the west and south side of that quarter. The registra- tion of the road along the south side of the S2 of 3 is also involved and also a drainage m9tter in rgard to the SES of 35 in the same township Mr erguson moved that the road committee make a st dy of these matters and report back to Council. It is not possible for the agent to ocate a larger truck as suggested by Council it its previous meeting 3 Ihe crew cab is supposed to be on its way but here was no definite information concerning t. Cons"derable discussion took place about whether or n t a Municipal District should replace wind- shie ds on trucks tradeC in. This had not been clea ly set out at the time the deals were made. Mr ampbell moved that Council agree to provide newindshields through insurance policies for the i trucks traded to Howe & Son this year on condition that Howe & Son pay the deductibles and that in future Council trades clearly specify any arrangements regarding windshields Carried. "NOT I Mr. C.W. Poole refrained from voting on this matter as he is buying one of the trade-ins from Howe and Son " Theoad Committee reported that they had inspected the oad known as the 3ayes road in regard to the equest for oacksloping when fences are being repl ced soon They reported that there are far too any rocks to allow for the backsloping at this time Fences, particularly on the east side, mig be relocated buy this would be at the option of tie owner Mr Ferguson moved that this report be a cepted. Carried Mr tchmelke moved that no new snow fences be purchased at this tirne Carried. Invitation from Coneco equipment was read in regard to its official opening in Calgary on June 23. Mr Bauer moved that this be filed as information Carried The delegation of Mr.'s Gall, Connor, T Doherty, and Bob Boake of the Acme Chamber of Commerce met with Council in regard to the proposed dam and recreation facilities SE -6-30-25-4. They stated that the actual application to PFRA for the dam required a written application from the Municipal District. They believed that the whole cost of the dam and the purchase of the land would be paid thr ugh PFRA and perhaps Water Resources, but the Municipal District must perhaps negotiate with the own rs. King confirmed ACME DAM CONT. that a representative of PFRA had been to the office and had stated that any application for the am would have to come from the Municipal Council Some discussion followed. The dele- gation thanked Council and then left the meeting Council briefly discussed the request of the delega- tion from Acme in regard to the dam and it was agreed without motion that Council request PFRA to carry out a feasibility study for a dam in or near the SE -6-30-25-4 and to submit a report to Council Mr. Joe Dobler gave the following information to Coun it in regard to gravel work in 1973. GRAVEL REPORT D'vision # Crushed Gravel Gravel lightcoat on roads Surfacing MrChurch moved that Council �.rp. ve the borrow pit and fence agreements as brought in by Mr. Ted Paquette Carried. Mr.lJohn Jeffery then also met with Council. Mr Ted Paquette reported that the patch crew are now doing the jobs as approved in the SE portion of the municipality SE of Churchill Discussion followed on whether or not the 2 mile of ioad S of SW -3-32-22-4 (Joe Nakaska) should be zebuilt prior to surfacing; Mr Paquette exp essed the opinion that it would be better if it ere only trimmed and packed. Mr. Ferguson als asked that the bump in the surfacing near Joe Kanderka's be repaired as soon as convenient. Mr Paquette advised that he had brought out some ear covers on approval but they had not been very satisfactory The liquid type is best but they had not been available at the time.
