Mr J C. Jeffery, Asst Sec. -Treasurer, was present and recorded the Minutes Mr C W. Poole moved approval of the Minutes of the Me ting of January 29/73 Carried. The Secretary read a letter from the Department of Labour, office of the Fire Commissioner regarding fire losses in the Municipal District for the period ending December 31/72 It stated there were three fires in hree Hills for a loss of $75,146., two firesin the Village of Carbon for $10,000 , one fire in the Vi lage of Acme, $50 00, 20 fires in the Town of Trochu for a loss of $94,23$•, one in the Village of Torrin on for $11,300 , 28 fires in the M. D for121,833 5$,2 5 and 22 fires to vehicles and trailers for for a total of 55 fires at a loss of $237,832 Mr A W Bauer moved to accept and file this report Carried Page 1 The Secretary read a letter from Jubilee Insurance stating that our new insurance adjusters will be Crosland, Peacock (Red Deer) Ltd replacing Mr Grant Young Mr T. A Ferguson moved that we write Jubilee Insurance stating that Grant Young services have been excellent as far as we are concerned and we would like to ep him as our adjuster if this is possible Carried. Discussion was held concerning the Committee Meeting c f January 31st and various new parts of the wage contracts HOLIDAYS & SALARIED EMPLOYEES - Mr. A W Bauer moved that all incentive holidays will be taken during slack pe iods as follows ASSESSOR - June, July and August OFFICE - July, August, September, October & November P.W. Jeffery gave a brief report REPORT RE on the Municipal Assistance Grant regarding meeting with MUNICIPAL Mr Farran in Didsbury February 7th basically stating ASSISTANCE that the Municipal mill rate As defined for Municipal GRANT Assistance Grants as the gross mill rate minus the factor suppleme tary school requisition The 72% grcwth will be calculated on the preceding formula The 1972 22 mill Punicipal mill rate will be levied including all levies lest year with the exception of Homes for Aged and priv tely-owned Nursing Homes which would bring our Municipal mill rate to approximately 26 mills. V Mr Roy Kinsey then asked about attending an Inservice Training Course for Assessors which will be two weeks in Edmonton and Mr. A H. Church mo6ed th t Mr. Kinsey be allow d to go at his discretion.ri nsey left the meeting et that time. The Secretary read a letter from German & Co which GERMAN & CO GEGEJONES enclosed a report of Ed Jones & Associates regarding ED RE. case of Frederick J Art versus Municipal District of ACCOUNT Kneehill Mr. R G Campbell moved we pay the Jones ✓ FRED ART account f $950 00 and file as information the report Carried. 3 Lettar was read from the Department of Highways DAM asking if this Municipal District had any objection SW -11-31-23-4 to the granting of permission or any special conditions E. MORGAN which should be complied with regarding the dam of Mr Earl Morgan on SW -11-31-23-4 Mr T A Ferguson moved that thera would be no objection to his dam and if we II" build a road in the future past that location and if the dam conflicts with our road building project then Mr Morgapa would be responsible for the bridges for the remov4l of the dam Carried CGun Icil held brief discussion concerning grass GRASS SEED seed tenders for 1973. Mr C W. Poole moved that the V TENDERS A.S.B. decide whether or not to tender for grass seed. Carried Nr. Joe Dobler and John Dorn, Ted Paquette and GRAVEL Doug Hazelton entered the meeting at 1 30 P.M. Varicus discussion was held and it was decided that 25,000 cu. yds. sho d be crushed at Torrington Mr. Hazelton stated that there was only 500 cu yds crushed to date Mr. Dobler reported the gravel crew is still hauling from Meglis, they have only approximately 7,000 cul yds left He reported that they had hauled 2557 to t[he Correction Line, 4390 to Grainger, 4200 to Ivan Eerreths. He further stated the new loader should be in by the end of the week Mr. R W Brown moved that Mr Dobler and Mr. Ferguson are to try and locate a stockpiling location near Highway 27 to Morrin and not too far from Highway 21 with powers to enter into an agreement if they find one Carried Mr. A W Bauer moved that Linden Contractors LINDEN crush -25,000 cu. yds at Torrington Carried CONTRACTORS Bri f discussion took place concerning the LOADING CRANE loading crane and Mr A. Church moved that the V/ Shop Co 'ttee look at a used crane for approximately $2500.00 and purchase, if satisfactory Carried Mr Dcbler reported that we have two truck TRUCK CHASSIS chassis domplete with small houses on them and one FOR SALE United Trailer for sale Mr T A Ferguson moved to leave the sink and the stove in the trailer and try and sell as a complete unit Curried. Mr R G Campbell moved that the Shop Committee PRICES SET set prices on the various`ecuipment to be sold BY SHOP COMM Carried Applications for work from Mr Dale Rempfer, EMPLOYMENT Glen Enz e, Gerry Perks and Ken Maclean were referred APPLICATIONS to brief y and Mr C W Poole moved to turn Copies of same over to Mr Ted Paquette. Carried Fuel tenders were discussed briefly and Mr A W. FUEL TENDERS Bauer moved to call for bids cn clear diesel, purple diesel, ail, grease and gas from pumps to be in by March 12 1973 Carried Wages were discussed Mr T A Ferguson moved WAGES - that Mr Harvey Jesske be paid at the rate of $3 50 HARVEY JESSKE per hour year-round Carried. Discussion continued on both wages and the Jan f REPORTING 31/73 Committee report and Mr C W. Poole moved to V1 SCHEDULE send the letter of the reporting schedule to all employees concerned Carried Mr R G Campbell moved that we pay the tuition TUITION FEES fees for our employees taking night courses at tech RE TECH Carried Mr T.
