DAU D C Dau nd J C Jeffery as Secretary. J C Jeffery Mr. R W Brown gave a report regarding his trip to R W. BROWN Edmonton concerning the Municipal Assistance Grant. Mr. that he had asked the Department of Municipal REPORT RE MUN. Carried. APPROVED Mr A. H Church moved the adoption of the Final 31/72 FINANCIAL STATEMENT Financial Statement for the month ending December District had $672 897 52 in receipts DEC /72 stating tYe Municipal for December and expenditures totalled $421,485 43 with ADOPTED loans paid of $15,000 leaving a net balance at the end of December/72 of $245,061.60 Carried. The $ecretary read to Council the notes from the WAGE INCREASE discussion of the wage committee meeting held this HOURLY morning Council held a lengthy discussion and Mr WAGE EARNERS S C Schmelke moved that all hourly wage earners have their wages increased by 20¢ per hour straight across the board Carried. Poole moved that the Secretary write all of the employees regarding the above salary changes Carried 1 CouEcil then held a discussion concerning holiday HOLIDAYS incentivE for the office staff, the assessor and the OFFICE STAFF Ag Fielcman and his assistant Council agreed that this would be quite appropriate if the above-mentioned employeeS, would take their holidays during slacker work periods Mr Brown moved that J C Jeffery report b ck to Council the next meeting regarding the slacker working periods for the above-mentioned employ- ees Ca reed Mr C. W. Poole moved that Gordon Park, Ag. Field- G. W. Bauer moved to accept and file these reports Carried A letter was read from the Alberta Safety Council ALTA SAFETY regarding snowmobile statistics across Canada It stated /COUNCIL RE that the Fatal snowmobile accidents in the winter of ,// SNOWMOBILES 71/72 declined by 8 9% Mr T A. Ferguson moved to accept and file Carried. A letter was read from the A A.M D & C regarding ANNUAL the Annual Spring Meeting to be held March 28/73 and SPRING the Insurance Workshop on March 29/73 to be held in the ,� MEETING Macdonal& Hotel, Edmonton. Mr. R W Brown moved that all MAR 28 & Councillors, G G King and J. C. Jeffery attend both 29/73 the Spring Meeting and the Insurance Seminar and that the Secretary reserve hotel rooms for the allove-mentioned for the night of March 28/73 Carried A delegation from the Wimborne Fish & Game Association consisting of Mr J 0 Smith, Mr Alex Benedict, Mr Leonard Litz and Ron Smith met with Council Mr. J 0 Smith acted as spokesman for the group stating that the Bigelow Dim did not have enough oxygen supply to provide for any sport fishing so the Wimborne Fish & Game Assoc have gone ahead and hired a drag -line from Sundre Construc4 on and a D-8 Caterpillar and built a dug -out 1257 x 20p4 x 124 deep located on the John Kraft farm He furthei- stated that the Provincial Fish & Game people have set 4side 2,000 trout to stock the dam and that the Wimborne Fish & Game Association have a long-term lease on the land recorded by Caveat He stated that the Water ResourcesDepartment have been contacted and the Minister of Lands � Forests has been contacted and also there is a contlnu6l flow of fresh water into the dug -out and they havealready installed a culvert for overflows Mr Smith stated this operation to date has cost the Wimborne Fish & Game Association $5,223 50 and it would like Counicil4s consideration of any grants that they would feed justified in giving the Association. Mr. A H Chinch moved that the Municipal District give the Wimborne Fish & Game Association $1,000 Carried q leitter was read from Mr K. A. Wright, Deputy Mayor of the Town of Three Hills to Mr C. G McGregor, Chairman of the Local Authorities Board regarding the Town of Three Hills? annexation Mr Wright 4 s letter asked for speedy and favorable approval to the annexa- tion with approval to be by February 16/73.
