Carried REIMER SUBDIV APPROVED I/ COUNCIL MEETING DECEMBER 6, 1972 Page 1 The Organizational Meeting of the Council of the ORGANIZATIONAL M D of Kneehill No 48 was held at the Municipal Office, MEETING Three Hills on Wednesday, December 6, 1972, commencing at 9 00 A M Councillors present for this meeting were. Mr A. H Church Div 1 Mr C° W Poole t° 2 ✓ Mr R. W Brown is 3 Mr A, W Bauer it 4 Mr. T. A Ferguson tf 5 Mr S. C Schmelke 17 6 Mr R. G Campbell 19 7 Mr. Gi G King, Sec.-Treasurer, was present and G G KING recoracd the Minutes Mr D. C Dau of the Three Hills School Div was v D C DAU present for the greater part of the meeting. Mr G. G King called the meeting to order and REEVE -- called for nominations for Reeve for the ensuing year R. W. BROWN Mr Poole nominated Mr R W Brown as Reeve. There were no other nominations and Mr Brown was then declared elected. He thanked Council and took charge of the meeting Mr Church moved that Mr C W. Poole be Deputy - Reeve DEPUTY -P00 for the ensuing year Carried E Mr Poole moved approval of the Minutes of the ✓ MINUTES Meeting of' November 27/72 Carried. APPROVED Minutes of the Three Hills School Div Meetings of 3 HILLS Nov 10 &;22/72 were referred to briefly It was noted SCHOOL MINUTES that Mr Dau again represents the School Division at our APPROVED Council Meetings and he was welcomed. Rate of pay for Trustee work was noted Mr. Dau reported that the wage agrccment! with the teachers has been agreed upon at an increase in basic rate of actual cost will be slightly over 8 %° Mr Bauer moved that the Minutes and reports be accepted and filed Mr Poole reported regarding the garage location TED GIBBS in respect; to Ted Gibbs, Swalwell Mr Gabbs was willing GARAGE to leave this matter until next spring Mr Bauer moved LOCATION that thisreport be accepted Carried Mr Poole moved that Mr H Schmidt be sent a letter BUILDING asking hid to contact Mr A W. W/NW- 26- 31 -26 -4 - South of Allingham Elevator - CULVERTS Mr Bauer moved that the Bridge Branch be advised that this is a bus route and the full cost of bridge replacement should be borne by the Government Carried 2 Mr Bauer moved that a letter be written to Alberta Wheat Pool asking about its plans for the elevators at Simnyslope and Allingham as this may effect road decisions Carried 3 It was noted that the Bridge Branch will supply and install a new bridge this winter at W/NW- 29- 29 -24 -4 - Ralstons NW of Grainger, New culverts will be supplied in 1973 for S/SW- 1- 31 -24 -4 South of Twining Elevators, W /NW -33- 29 -25 -4 NE of Acme near Bates; W/�iW- 3- 32 -25 -4 West'of Three Hills 9 miles and 3/4 mile north Mr Church moved that these proposals be accepted Carried Mr Campbell asked that the Sec - Treasurer inquire CULVERTS about culverts 22/23 and 23/24- 33 -24 -4 Ross & Cunningham Mr Poole moved that Council approve of the agreement LAND AGREEMENT with Stephen F. Varga for land only on the East rod of ✓ S. Mr G King gave a brief report regarding taxes and stated that the amount rcceivable at Nov 30/72 was $$49177 329 less than at Nov 30/71 Tax collections to Novo 30/72 were $1129216 $0 higher than for the correspond- ing period in 1971 These showed a much improved situation Mr Poole moved that this report be accepted Mr Ferguson moved that banking business be conducted through the Treasury Branch at Three Hills and that the signing officcrs be the Reeve or Deputy -Reeve together with the Sec - Treasurer or, in his absence, the Ass °t Sec - Treasurer, and that the Payroll Account continue to be handled as in the past year Carried Mr Bauer made the following motion in regard to regular meetings of Council 1 That`all meetings be held at the Municipal Office in Three Hills and commence at 9.00 A M on the dates as set REPORT RE- TAX COLLECTION ,% BANKING BUSINESS REGULAR COUNCIL MEETINGS 2 That ";Regular Meetings be held on the second and. fourth Mondays but if the Monday is a holiday the meeting will be held on the Tuesday following 3 The date of any regular meeting may be changed by Council with due notice 4 ThatIthcre be no regular meeting on the 4th Monday in Diecember nor on the Tuesday following that date Motiion Carried Mr Church moved that the rate of pay for the Reeve and Councillors as from January 1st, 1973 be set at $25.00 per day plus $5 00 per day for meals, and 14¢ per mile for mileage on Municipal work for all meetings, supervision, corfiIiittee work or other Municipal duties, that under 5 hours away from home for a meeting or committee work be consider as one -half day, that over 5 hours away from home for a meeting or committee work be considered as one day, that any Evening meeting be considered as one -half day.
